What's that? An upgrade to my favorite Storm figure of all time? A <60 point figure with 8 range, 10 attack, and 5 damage? Yes! My only concern is that she may destroy the enemy before she upgrades to 98 point Storm!

I did a double take at the dial when I pulled her. 59 points, 5 damage with Stealth up top? Then when she loses RCE, she picks 3 damage BACK up, and when she loses the ability to deal 3 damage, she has Force Blast and high defense with ES/D to play keep away or knock someone off a building for major pain. The Promotion is gravy if you have the Rare and want to do it, but for the points, the stats, powers, and playability of this Storm is well worth the investment without it.
I used her in on a Supremacy league team and she was by far my MVP. She suffers from not having move and attack powers but once you get her in place in some hindering terrain she is a monster that can deal 5 damage. She was over looked by all my opponents for which they paid dearly. She will from now on me my go to storm for X-Men. Plus she promotes easy although I was not able to do it due to the fact I did not have the promoted storm at the time.
Hoo boy I used this piece against my friend's Batman FF set. The Ranged Combat Expert ability really made this piece shine through, and the Stealth kept her alive through the whole game. I'll definitely run this again.
Thanks to the new PAC this version of storm has become that much more potent from range. 10 atk for 5 dmg, or 12 atk for 3 dmg. Some great options that hopefully lead up to her promoting!
This is a sniper piece like her Danger Room predecessor, but her punches up close now pack some oomph. Still, you don't want her to be based or her utility plunges - try to put your objects on rooftop edges and give her spots to cover a lot of board from. Her only up-close resource is Force Blast, so if you do happen to get based and bloodied up on the roof, at least you can give them a windy "shortcut" to the sidewalk below.

It doesn't seem like the promotion mechanic really weighs into point cost, so I don't feel it's wasted, but that being said, there's no real point I'd actually want to promote her. Top dial, she can stack her attack or damage far higher, or both slightly higher, than the vet version, and if she's smacked down even 2 clix, I'd rather continue fighting with her STILL competent attack capability.
Promoting her up top feels like you're subbing in a Storm with only a slight amount of advantages, promoting her after she's halfway through her dial feels like giving your opponent 98 points instead of 59.
I guess all in all, my point here is that for 59 points, you get a great value. Of all the Storms flying around in the game, this one is my favorite. She may not be a 'full power' Storm, but frankly no other storm in the game is that much stronger, especially when you consider the significant point savings to afford her more teammates to heal and support her.
