Was Avengers 2 the first time a x-buster suit succeeded?
I remember an going joke I heard was that when Tony Stark in the comics makes a buster suit to take down someone, he's destined to lose and to my knowledge that has been the case so far in the comics.
However this wasn't the case in Avengers 2, or at the very least he stopped the Hulk one way or another. So was this the first time a buster suit actually succeeded? Guess it's fitting Robert Downey Jr's version was the one to pull it off.
On a similar note, now I'm really curious how they're going to portray him in Captain America 3 since he and Captain America are going to be fighting. At the current rate the movies keep on portraying RDJ being able to handle himself in a fight, either Steve loses but Tony comes to his senses, or RDJ is treated as a big boss type enemy in the movie and goes down by any combination of Steve, Bucky, Falcon, Natasha, Fury, Paul Rudd, Wasp, Scarlett Witch, maybe even Michel Douglas all ganging up on him with a possibility of Don Cheadle delivering in the KO shot on Tony for the greater good.
I know this post is old, but whatever. :D
That I recall, Iron Man's 'buster' armors always failed, but did dish out some serious damage before getting destroyed.
On the movie....I really dunno how they're gonna play fight out.
Comic book writer and illustrator extraordinaire....
Wasn't there something else involved in stopping the Hulk? I guess this shows how memorable that movie was for me if it's already becoming a blur in my mind.
Anyway, I do like the point that Iron Man's buster suits always seem a bit lacking. Maybe that's why we don't see them anymore in the comics.
