I don't want to hi-jack this thread but I think this would also help the OP. This is sort of a follow up question that I thought of when reading the responses (including that of burleigh2) here. It is kind'a complicated but I think knowing how it works can be useful.
Regarding EE and Sharpshooter ability. By now, most of us know that making an EE while adjacent to the target will require some caution. But if your Sharpshooter have ES/D (meaning +2 to range), EE is a risk worth taking. I've done this a number of times with AVAS Hawkeye.
My question is, what if you are doing a PW/EE combo, will your own ES/D (and damage reducers) be ignored? Also, another variation is would a PS/EE also mean you take that 1 damage regardless if you have damage reducer (assuming you got hit by your own attack)?
The EE doesn't change anything about who has stuff ignored by PW, so nothing would be ignored.
PS does make the damage penetrating, so it would be penetrating for the attacker, too.
I did, except it seems I must have missed that part.
After you've been playing for a while, it can be hard to remember what your first game was like (and even harder if you didn't have a good group of people that helped you learn). I initially learned how to play this game on my own before I knew about HCRealms and reading through 20-ish pages (at the time) can be quite daunting and there's a lot that your brain just can't retain when reading all of that. The players that have a supportive group teaching them may have never faced that struggle, but there is a LOT in the rulebook that can be missed even when you read it cover to cover the first time or two.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
