I'm especially glad to see my thoughts on why to hold off on Enigma aren't just my own. Part of me felt due to his being a Prime, he HAD to be better than the standard version. Yet I couldn't really see it...
One of my favorite comic characters, yet I have a hard time liking his Heroclix versions.
This is the one I generally turn to when I can. He's cheap, hard to hit, and has fun abilities. His "Riddle Me This" slows things down a bit, but is very thematic. The Elaborate Deathtrap is hard to pull off, though, and is best used against lower-cost figures.
Love the Riddler and glad you gave him some face time! I played the crap outta that LE from AA and I've been trying to get a good team going for Riddler Prime here. Thanks for the great write up!
Really enjoy both figures and it depends on the build. Arkham usually calls for riddler, but the LoD usually winds up with Nigma. Different Strokes!
Agreed. Edward Nygma pairs nicely with the uncommon Lex Luthor from SLoSH, thanks to Luthor's Defend and the Underworld TA for Nygma's Calculator. The vanilla Riddler could be the linchpin of a Calculator chain of his own, but he seems a little fragile to be the sole provider of a key team ability. Your opponent sends Krypto to sniff out Riddler's hiding spot, and suddenly your whole team's attack stat folds.
Riddler's one of my favorite villains, based solely on the title of his B:TAS origin episode ("If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich?"), and the flavor of the Prime makes it one of my all-time faves. He starts out all crafty and I'm-smarter-than-you with the Shape Change and the Prob and the souped-up Mind Control... but one hit and he's a raged-out baby, with Charge/BCF/Battle Fury. Really captures the character to me. I've never gotten good use out of his Photographic Memory trait, though; I'd trade it for some Stealth in a heartbeat.
