about the punisher and his van regarding replacement values.
Okay, Frank on click one has an 11 attack, 6 range and 2 damage. When he drives his van and uses the free action to bestow his stats on it, does the higher stats win out or does everything get replaced? Had this come up today and I wasn't sure and didn't want to misuse it for the future. On a side note, the punisher that comes withe the van, when equipped with one of his weapons, does it stack with his RCE?
Everything gets replaced. Which value is higher does not matter. You can chose the order of replacemeny values. But you cannot chose between a replacement value and the original value.
If the weapon requires an action to activate then it cannot be combined with RCE as that requires an action of it's own.
Bummer, van actually loses damage when the included punisher is driving it. And the weapon says ranged action to use, not sure if that works, they seem to change the vernacular every year lol.

The only time I can see the Punisher Van's damage ever being used is with the Ram ability which uses it's printed value. Otherwise if you don't replace values it has a 0 attack which isn't that great really.

I actually put Night Nurse as my pilot and it made for a very effective ambulance with the 11 attack support and lots of sidestep to get away from opponents. Then when the van takes extensive damage, pop out the pilot out to heal the van. I even used her 11 attack to do the ram ability to bowl over a bunch of people (it was a three way match and both opponents were tied up in a big scrum).
Fun piece.
I wanted to put the above in the comments section but have to wait for it to get coded in the units. Hope this isn't too off topic.
You're pretty much only using the Van's printed damage value for Ramming things. If it didn't have Ram it wouldn't have a damage value at all.
It appears that "Range Action" and "Ranged Combat Action" are synonymous. I've been playing it that way since they started adjusting the terminology. You definitely can't stack it with RCE, but the weapons themselves are solid for what you spend on them.
My main question is whether you need to choose your Van's Resource "Equipment" when you build your force or at the beginning of the game. That's rather unclear.
One of the things that bugs the crap out of me is that they're calling a Submachine Gun a semi-automatic. That's not how that works! The Pistol token included is already a semi-automatic!

I don't care if it's off topic, because it's brilliant. Putting a low-cost figure into the pilot seat for a particular ability or stat is always clever and effective, which is why Ms. Lion drives my Blue Skull Ship most of the time.
I'm a bit sad that the DP FF Punisher just retired, as he'd make quite possibly the best pilot available for the Van to take advantage of its special abilities, Resource and Self-Destruct alike. Perhaps a bit on the expensive side, but effective all the same.

Assuming the spoiled text I've seen is correct, its quite clear:
Quote
Force Construction & Scoring This resource costs 10 points and begins on its Red starting line, or costs 5 points and begins on its Blue starting line. Punisher Van may be played without paying this additional costs, but if you do, the Weapons Dial is ignored. Choose 4 different Weapon object tokens and 3 different Weapon 3-D objects to assign to the Punisher Van. When a Weapon is placed by this resource is KO'd, your opponent does not score it, instead re-assign it to Punisher Van.
Nothing say's its done at the beginning of the game, and its under the section specifically called "Force Construction". So, you make the choice when building your force.
And yes, "Range/Close Action" is the new terminology.
