Multi Based character starting placement question.
How does character placement work with multi based figures like WOL's Nekron or FI's The Serpent interact with maps with walls at the edge or inside the starting area itself, specifically indoor maps? Are they dq'd right away due to the inability to legally place them? Are the walls broken down or ignored, and if they are, when I move away from them and back, would the walls stay ignored?
Also for the new Legion of Doom ata,
"At the beginning of your turn, if a character using this team ability is adjacent to a lower point character that can use this team ability, you may choose to modify a combat value other than damage on that lower point character by -2 until your next turn and modify the same value on this character by +2 until your next turn. UNCOPYABLE."
If I have a Lex Luthor figure with 110 pts, a Lex&Joker for 200 pts and a Captain Cold for 60 pts, Would both Lex figures be able to draw combat values from Captain Cold? Like, +2 Defense for both Lex Figures which Cold gets a net -3 modifier. Or am I only limited to one character being able to modify a combat value?
1. If your force does not fit in the starting area then all starting areas are increasesd in size until the force fits.
Rulebook page 5
Quote
If either player’s force will not fit within the purple lines, all starting areas increase by one row and one column but can’t overlap another player’s starting area. Starting areas can be extended until each player’s force will fit in their respective starting area.
2. I don't see why that wouldn't work.
Just remember that rule of three is not checked until all modifiers have been applied. So a modifier of +1 to captain cold's defense value in the given scenario would still leave him at -3.

No, you can't be DQ'd because your starting force won't fit in a particular maps starting area. From the rule book, pg. 5:

There used to be an additional PG entry that addressed the specific case of multi-based characters still not being able to fit. I haven't been able to find a more recent (and thus, official) reference to it, though I don't know how else it could be handled. Certainly not with a DQ. From the old PG:
Quote
If extending your starting area will not create the necessary space you may instead place the multibased character in your starting area and treat all squares it occupies as if they were clear terrain of the same elevation as long as the multibased character is not moved or placed into other squares. Once the multibased character no longer occupies those squares, they revert to their original terrain and elevation type.

Yes, they can both give Cold the -2 modifiers from the ATA.
