Question: 1. If the character that War Wheel chooses is multi-base, would War Wheel's chosen rows or columns need to occupy ALL of the rows or columns the chosen character does?
2. Could War Wheel be placed on a diagonal from where it started?
Answer: 1. The multi-base figure just needs to occupy at least one row or column War Wheel's base occupies.
2. No. (See link for diagram)
Assuming Was Wheel is in center as (Circle F), when War Wheel activates Colossal Retaliation, the opposing character must have at least one square of its base occupying a red square. When placing War Wheel for the effect, it must be placed along any of the red squares. Note that only characters that are between where it started and where it is placed will be attacked. Per the example below, after War Wheel is placed, only characters in the red squares between the (Circle F) will be attacked.
Question: Is this line of fire considered to come from a character even if the square the line is being drawn from is occupied by a friendly , ,or character?
Answer: The line of fire is being drawn from the square the friendly character occupies, not the character itself. Line of fire will be drawn using Arcade's size.
Question: The Brood has a blue starting line on click #3. Can UXM #027 Brood brought into the game on click #3 be healed to click #1?
Answer: No. A character can't heal past its starting line. When the UXM 027 Brood is brought into the game on click #3 using BROOD IMPLANTATION, it is using its blue starting line and is 30 points for all game effects.
Question: Question 1: Could Patriot remove an action token from an adjacent sub-60 point character and a character with the Young Avengers keyword?
Question 2: Is adjacency required for token removal from a friendly character with the Young Avengers keyword?
Question 3: Can Patriot remove an action token from himself by using this trait?
Leadership: At the beginning of your turn, give this character a free action and roll a d6. On a result of 5 or 6, add one action to your action total for that turn and this character may remove an action token from an adjacent friendly character with a lower point value.
Answer: 1. No. Only one token is removed. YOUNG AVENGERS ASSEMBLE functions like normal Leadership with the exception that he can remove an action token from an adjacent friendly character, regardless of its point cost, if it has the Young Avengers keyword.
2. Yes.
3. No. A character is never adjacent to itself.
Question: If Metalhead has one token and is adjacent to a Donatello and do as the trait says... can I still give a non-free action to Donatello, assigning him a second action token?
Answer: Yes. Assigning a character an action token due to a game effect does not mean that the character has been given its one non-free action per turn. As long as that Donatello does not have two action tokens after the resolution of I BUILT HIM, AND I HAVE THE REMOTE, he may still be given a non-free action.
Question: In regards to “Repulsor Rays” does this imply that the distance must be less than the range value, or is it an absolute difference? For example, using Iron Man's printed range value of 7, if Iron Man hits a character with doubles at 6 spaces away and generates a knock back of 3 spaces, the character will land 9 spaces away. Could Iron Man then knock back the hit character another 9-7=2 spaces? (Edited for clarity)
Answer: After the action resolves, the character will be knocked back a number of squares equal to Iron Man's range value (7 in this example) and the squares away it currently is from Iron Man (9 in this example). 7-9 = -2. Since a character can't be knocked back a negative number of squares, no knock back would occur.
Question: If Sentry landed on the power which appears on click #3 and rolled a 6 which gives him +1 stats, then was healed to click #1 and landed on click #3 again and then rolled a 6 once more giving him +1 stats, would the power essentially give him +2 stats?
Answer: No. The modifier lasts until the effect is rolled for again. Once you roll for the effect again, the previous modifier granted by the effect will end and a new modifier will apply depending on the result of the new roll.
Question: 1. When additional characters are assigned the batcave for 10 points each, do those characters also get assigned the Utility Belt?
2. If all characters on my force share a keyword, does the addition of "Batcave Computer" and "Alfred Pennyworth" from The Batcave mean that I am not a theme team?
THEMED TEAMS: Themed teams are forces of HeroClix characters in which all characters share at least one common keyword among the keywords listed on their character cards. Keywords are not case sensitive. Bystander tokens can be included in your force although they do not have keywords, but they are not considered “characters” for the purpose of bonuses or counting characters for qualifications described below.
A keyword can either be generic or named. Generic keywords appear on the character card in italics (or appear on the list on page 28). Any keyword that is not a generic keyword is a named keyword. In order for a force to be considered a themed team, your force must include at least 2 characters and they must have the shared keyword before the beginning of the game. Once a force is considered a themed team, it remains a themed team until the end of the game, even if the characters on your force no longer meet the criteria of a themed team.
Answer: 1. No. Only the character initially assigned the Batcave can be assigned the Utility Belt.
2. Yes. The Batcave Computer and Alfred Pennyworth do not possess keywords, so their inclusion as characters on your force will not allow you to construct a themed team since they possess no keywords.
Question: Using Proteus as equipment
1) Taskmaster rolls for Proteus and fails, turning from click 1 to click 2. I then choose click 4 using Master of All Moves trait. Do I return Taskmaster to click 1 or click 2 at the end of the turn?
2) With Taskmaster on click 1, I choose click 3 and turn the dial using Master of All Moves. I then roll for Proteus and fail, turning from click 3 to click 4. Which click do I return to at the end of the turn?
Answer: When using MASTER OF ALL MOVES, Taskmaster is always returned to the click he began the turn on. As soon as the turn begins, whatever click he is on will be the click he will be returned to at the end of the turn. Any effects that occur during the "beginning of turn" phase will not alter what click Taskmaster began the turn on.
Note that effects that occur during the "end of turn" phase can be ordered in any way the active player chooses. The active player may return Taskmaster to the click he began the turn on before or after resolving any other "end of turn" effects (or free action given during the "end of turn" phase).
Question: Can the brood egg be attached after the egg is KO'd?
Answer: No. Once the character is KO'd, it is removed from the game and can no longer use its effects. Since the Brood Egg is KO'd, its IT'S HATCHING trait will no longer trigger or resolve.
Question: 1. Can the character assigned the Hex tokens, use the free action to remove one and assign himself the +1 bonus?
2. If I had 3 characters and 1 of them was assigned 3 Hex tokens, could each one be assigned a free action to remove a Hex token and assign the +1 bonuses to just 1 character for a total of +3 attack to that character for that turn?
Question: Do I make the roll at the end of my turn for Super Skrull, removing zero tokens and failing on a (1), even if I didn't give him a free action to choose any powers?
Answer: No. The roll is only made if the free action to activate IT'S HARD TO EMULATE FOUR POWERS WITH HALF MY LIMBS was given.
Question: If the character Proteus is equipped to is KO'd, and there is only one character on he map that is under 100 points, but that character is currently a non-standard character (turned into a tiny-size or giant-size character via a game effect), is Proteus placed into the map, or would he equip into the character that is temporarily non-standard?
Answer: Since no character meets the requirements needed to be equipped with Proteus, he can't be equipped. He would be placed on the map per his trait.
Question: In regards to “Red Sun Torpedo”, is the "other hit characters" referring to characters that are not the Brainiac Skull Ship, or characters that were hit but not targeted by the attack, i.e. those caught in Area of Effect for the energy explosion? (Edited for clarity)
Answer: The "other" refers to all characters that are not Brainiac Skull Ship.
Question: Assume that a character with the ability to target multiple characters attacks a character with Super Senses and a character without Super Senses, rolling high enough to potentially hit both characters.
When does the attacker assign damage between the two targets: before the opponent rolls for Super Senses or after the opponent rolls?
Super Senses: When this character is hit by an attack, you may roll a d6 before damage is dealt. On a result of 5 or 6, this character evades the attack.
Answer: When a character is targeting multiple characters with a range attack and dealing normal damage, you will divide the attacker’s damage value any way you choose among the successfully hit targets. Since you must divide the damage on hit targets, you must first determine that the attack actually hits. If the attack does not hit a target (such as it evading the attack via Super Senses), then it will not be a valid choice when assigning damage.
Question: Does the "if they share a keyword with him" refer to being carried regardless of symbols or that and carrrying up to three characters? So can he carry any three characters but they have to share a keyword to be able to ignore combat symbols? Or if he carries three do they all have to share a keyword?
Answer: Manifold may carry one character normally or he may carry up to three friendly characters, but if carrying more than one character, they all must share a keyword with him. If they do he also can carry them regardless of their combat symbols. He may carry just one character that shares a keyword with him and will be able to disregard its combat symbols when doing so.
Question: Can I place an object moved by tk in a square occupied with a friendly character?
Telekinesis: Give this character a power action and designate a target character or object (A) and a destination square (B). This character, A, and B must all be within 8 squares and line of fire of each other. Place A in B. If A is a character, it must be a single base character and possess the or symbols. If A is an opposing character, make a close or ranged combat attack that deals no damage against A, and only place the character in B if the target is hit. If A is an object and B is occupied by an opposing character, this character may make a ranged combat attack targeting the character occupying B, dealing object damage and destroying the object. A character that has been placed by Telekinesis this turn can’t use Telekinesis this turn.
I like to suggest that someone puts all these Rules Recap together into one PDF.
Thanks as always for the hard work Jaysol.
I'm quite happy normally to just subscribe to these threads and keep them in a separate folder in my subscription list but the PDF idea might have its uses. This episode for example I'm struggling to read the thread on my iPad not from any fault of Jaysol, it happens every time an inline dial for a massive dial gets posted (in this case the Batcave) the screen text for every posting shrinks to tiny size making it hard to read.

Since no character meets the requirements needed to be equipped with Proteus, he can't be equipped. He would be placed on the map per his trait.
***Question***
Am I missing something here? All I see for his ability is: equip this to another friendly character ...Trying to figure out why he couldn't be equipped to another friendly character of a 100 points or less that is not standard...ie tiny or giant, etc..

It's because of how the rules for equipping *anything* work...
