Question: 1. If there are multiple targets adjacent to the square targeted and one shape changes does this mean that no attacks can be made?
2. Does this power allow you to target your own characters with an attack?
SHAPE CHANGE When this character is chosen as the target of an attack, you may roll a d6. On a result of or , the attacker can’t target this character with an attack this turn and the attacker may choose another target character instead. The attacker then makes the attack unless there are no targets, in which case the action resolves without an attack.
Answer: 1. No. The attack will continue against all legal targets.
2. Yes.
Question: Can i use Telekinesis to hit with an object to an opposing character using Stealth that's occupying Hindered Terrain?
TELEKENESIS: Give this character a power action and designate a target character or object (A) and a destination square (B). This character, A, and B must all be within 8 squares and line of fire of each other. Place A in B. If A is a character, it must be a single base character and possess the HeroClix Tiny Damage Symbol or HeroClix Standard Damage Symbol symbol. If A is an opposing character, make a close or ranged combat attack that deals no damage against A, and only place the character in B if the target is hit. If A is an object and B is occupied by an opposing character, this character may make a ranged combat attack targeting the character occupying B, dealing object damage and destroying the object. A character that has been placed by Telekinesis this turn can’t use Telekinesis this turn.
STEALTH: When it is not your turn, hindered lines of fire drawn to this character are blocked.
Answer: Yes. Lines of fire are being drawn to the square the character occupies, and not the character itself. Since no line of fire is being drawn to the target character, Stealth will not trigger.
Question: If a Batman Family keyword character is the pilot and Batmobile is given a free action to replace its attack, damage, and range values with Batman's using Pilot Attacks.
Are the Batmobile's attack, damage, and range values all modified by +1 or do you select one replaced value by +1? (Edited for clarity)
PILOT ATTACKS: Give the vehicle a free action and until your next turn, replace its attack, damage, and range values with those printed values of the pilot.
Answer: The Batmobile's attack, damage, and range values would each be modified by +1.
Question: If I hit with Hulkbuster and my opponent chooses the extra attack for AVENGERS ASSEMBLE, can I use KNOCKOUT PUNCH to choose to decrease my attack value by 0, thereby eliminating both the attack penalty and the Damage Depletion Modifier?
Answer: No. You are not decreasing the value by choosing 0 (the value stays the same). You must choose a number (from 1 to 3) that will actually decrease the value.
Question: Does this allow the friendly characters using the Sinister Syndicate team ability to share attack values between each other if they are within 8 squares of Kingpin, but not adjacent to each other?
SINISTER SYNDICATE: Characters using the Sinister Syndicate Team ability may replace their attack value with the unmodified attack value of an adjacent friendly character using the Sinister Syndicate team ability
Answer: Yes. A character that can use the Sinister Syndicate team ability that is within 8 squares of Kingpin may use the Sinister Syndicate TA as if they were adjacent to another character that can use the Sinister Syndicate team ability that is also within 8 squares of Kingpin. They do not have to be within 8 squares of each other.
Question: Would “If that character is named Hobgoblin,” mean that, if a character has and is named Hobgoblin, that character would be unaffected by this power? (Edited for clarity)
Answer: Correct. A character named Hobgoblin must possess the :-wing: symbol in order to be affected by this power.
Question: Superior Spider-Man has it's real name as Peter Parker / Otto Octavius. Can I use him as an ID Character for the Spider-Man ID Card that looks for the real name of Peter Parker?
Answer: Yes. If a character has multiple real names separated by a comma or a slash, you may use any of those real names for effects looking for a specific real name. Note that real names separated by "and" or "&" can not be used individually.
Question: Mysterio possesses Stealth on some of his clicks. If Mysterio is on a Stealth click and has the Mist marker attached, can a character with Targeting: Ignores Hindering Terrain draw a line of fire to Mysterio?
STEALTH: When it is not your turn, hindered lines of fire drawn to this character are blocked.
A character with the “Target” symbol uses the effects indicated by its character card. Improved Targeting activates whenever the character draws a line of fire.
Answer: No. While a character that can use Targeting: Ignores Hindering Terrain ignores the effects of hindering terrain when drawing a line of fire, Mysterio's effect automatically makes lines of fire drawn to him become hindered lines of fire. Since the line of fire being drawn to him is hindered, it would be blocked to him due to Stealth.
Question: If a character has an ability that lets him "begin the game" with something (such as WK M16-003 Mysterio and his Illusion tokens) and that character is on the sideline as one of Chameleon's disguises and replaces Chameleon during the game, would it get its "begins the game" effects?
Answer: Yes. In the provided example, if Mysterio replaces Chameleon as a Disguise, he would have his Illusion tokens placed on his card.
Question: 1. Can a Disguise character also be designated as an ID character?
2. Suppose the “Master of Disguises” roll fails, and Chameleon replaces the disguise with MALLEABLE FACE possessed. If the line of fire was hindered, will he be able to use Stealth from MALLEABLE FACE? Will he be able to use the Shape Change?
Answer: 1. No. Once chosen to be used as a Disguise, that character can't be chosen to be used for any other game effect unless that game effect is from Chameleon. Choosing an ID Character is not an effect coming from Chameleon.
2. No. The replaced character was already the legal target of the attack once it rolled for MASTER OF DISGUISES. Chameleon would replace it and now be the legal target of the attack as the attack is past the point of needing to draw lines of fire or choosing targets. His Stealth or Shape Change would no longer trigger.
Question: When the Trait refers to Once per turn for all characters, does that reference one use of the Trait (regardless of which effect it is), or one use of each separate effect for each character who has the Trait?
Answer: The trait may only be used once per turn regardless of the effect granted.
Question: 1. Can a character replace their attack value with another character's that has the same attack value via the Sinister Syndicate TA to receive the bonus effects granted by SUPERIOR TO THE OTHER GUYS?
2. If I have Overdrive (9 attack), Shocker (10 attack) and Boomerang (11 attack) adjacent to one another like this: OSB, and Overdrive attacks replacing his 9 attack value with Boomerang's 11, through Shocker, would he get knockback from Shocker's Trait or Precision Strike from Boomerang's trait?
3. Do you get to choose when you activate your once per turn use of the STTOG trait, or does it happen automatically the first time a character replaces their attack value with a character's that has STTOG?
Answer: 1. Yes.
2. In the provided example, Overdrive will gain the effect granted by Shocker as that is the character he is using to replace his attack value with.
3. The effect is not optional. It triggers the first time a character with the trait is chosen to have its attack value used. Once used, the effects of the trait can't be granted again that turn (regardless of whether or not the granted effect was used).
Question: Does Lizard have to have this power (CELLULAR REGENERATION) be showing on his dial when he's actually hit and takes damage in order to trigger? (Edited for clarity)
Answer: Yes. The power must be possessed in order for the effect to trigger. If Lizard's dial is turned from a click not showing this power to a click that is showing this power, the effect will not trigger.
Question: So, what is the timing of the first part of this power?
- Lizard is hit and damaged, it heals 1 click and then the action resolved.
- Lizard is hit and damaged, the action resolved and then it can be healed by one click.
Answer: Lizard will first take the damage from the attack and then, assuming he is not KO'd, he will heal 1 click.
Question: Does “ESSSTANTIC TRANCE” allow for her to make a close attack against a character occupying any of her smoke cloud squares even if they aren't adjacent to her? (Edited for clarity)
Question: Is there a maximum number of Leg Extensions can be attach to Stilt-man one time?
Answer: Stilt-Man has no maximum for the number of Leg Extensions that may be attached to him, other than his point value (along with any other included game elements's point values) total not exceeding the build total for the game.
Question: 1. 1) If Spider-Man is KO'd does the web marker go away as well?
2) Does a character need to break away from a character with a Web marker attached to it that also has Plasticity?
Answer: 1. No, but since Spider-Man (and his effect) are no loner part of the game, the Web marker will have no effect on the attached character.
2. No. A character that automatically breaks away is still breaking away, but they are just automatically successful on their d6 roll. A character attempting to move away from an opposing character with a Web marker attached does not have to break away at all.
Question: My question is, do you have to actually make an attack to use this team ability or would you be allowed to replace your attack just to activate the team ability?
SINISTER SYNDICATE: Characters using the Sinister Syndicate team ability may replace their attack value with the unmodified attack value of an adjacent friendly character using the Sinister Syndicate team ability.
Answer: Combat values are not calculated until they are needed. As such, replacements and modifiers are not applied to a combat value until that combat value needs to be calculated. You may not choose to replace a combat value when it does not need to be calculated.
In the provided example, you may only choose to replace the character's attack value when you need to calculate that attack value, such as during an attack or when a game effect specifically tells you to check the character's attack value.
Question: (See link for diagram)
Are characters in a chain of adjacent squares and friendly to each other and each possessing the Sinister Syndicate TA allowed to chain the replaced value of one of them down to the last? Can A attack X and end up attacking with an 11 attack value?
SINISTER SYNDICATE: Characters using the Sinister Syndicate team ability may replace their attack value with the unmodified attack value of an adjacent friendly character using the Sinister Syndicate team ability.
Answer: Yes. In the provided example, A needs to determine what their attack value will be so they choose to use the Sinister Syndicate team ability to replace theirs with B's unmodified attack value. A will now be replacing their attack value with B's unmodified value, so we need to determine what B's attack value is. Since you need to calculate B's attack value, you can now choose to use B's Sinister Syndicate team ability to replace its attack value with C's unmodified attack value. C does not replace it's attack value with anyone else's so the "chain" ends. The attack value B replaces with will be 11. B's value is now calculated as 11. A will now replace its attack value with B's unmodified attack value which was calculated as 11. A will now have an 11 attack value.
Question: If Radioactive Man begins the turn adjacent to an opposing character but is also adjacent to a friendly character, can he Sidestep to move away first before triggering the effect so he won't end up damaging the friendly character?
Answer: Yes. The active player may choose to activate and resolve Sidestep first before checking for the trigger of NUCLEAR-LEVEL RADIATION and resolving it.
Question: If Hobgoblin gives the identity token to a character that can use Super Senses, would that character get to roll for it after the attack is transferred to that character?
Super Senses: When this character is hit by an attack, you may roll a d6 before damage is dealt. On a result of 5 or 6, this character evades the attack.
Answer: No. The character is now the hit target of the attack. It can no longer evade the attack.
Hmm, that makes Hobgoblin really interesting... hadn't noticed the "Hit" in his power. Looks like the (non-PW) way to counter him is to either counter the power, or use multi-target attacks... Thanks as always for the digest!
Am I the only one surprised by the sinister syndicate team ability ruling?
Yes. Its always been that way. Same thing goes for the defense sharing TA's out there. Just most people don't play those teams. Prior to the last Spidey set before this, most Sinister Syndicate pieces sucked (and sometimes didn't have the TA), or they were too expensive point-wise (see the Defenders being around 150pts average). Having a defense sharing TA and an attack sharing one though on a wildcard team is pretty good though.
Am I the only one surprised by the sinister syndicate team ability ruling?
I actually went with this interpretation in a recent discussion thread but I wouldn't have been surprised if they'd ruled it the other way. Your not alone in your thinking the discussion continued on back and forth for several pages after the ruling.
Oops quick edit,
Forgot to sat thanks for another great recap Jaysol, keep up the good work.

The part in bold is untrue and unnecessary. The mist marker makes Mysterio untargetable through all but pulse wave.

Question:
Answer:
2. In the provided example, Overdrive will gain the effect granted by Shocker as that is the character he is using to replace his attack value with.
I'm not sure this is correct. What's the result have to do with Shocker? Just because he's borrowing Boomerang's 11 attack to lend to Overdrive it uses Shocker's trait? Why? I look at this as he's BORROWING BOOMERANG'S ATTACK SCORE. Why isn't he borrowing Boomerang's trait?

SINISTER SYNDICATE - Characters using the Sinister Syndicate team ability may replace their attack value with the unmodified attack value of an adjacent friendly character using the Sinister Syndicate team ability.
Note that the TA refers to an adjacent friendly character. Overdrive is adjacent to Shocker, not Boomerang.
Does the telekinesis ruling also mean that is a way to damage Mystique?
No.
SHAPESHIFTER: Mystique can use Shape Change and beings the game with a Shapeshift token on her card. While she has a Shapeshift token, she can use Improved Movement: Ignores Characters and opposing characters can only target her if they began the turn adjacent to her. When Mystique targets an opposing character with an attack, remove all Shapeshift tokens. When she succeeds using Shape Change, if she doesn't have one, place a Shapeshift token on her card.
TELEKENESIS: Give this character a power action and designate a target character or object (A) and a destination square (B). This character, A, and B must all be within 8 squares and line of fire of each other. Place A in B. I'm not sure what you're talking about. The answer looks correct to me.
"He's Predator Smurf! Not Happy Smurf or Gleeful Smurf or even PMSing Smurfette! He's Predator Smurf! What kind of attitude do you think he's gonna have?" -Songwriterz-
That ruling about Betty Brandt kind of makes her completely useless against the in set Hobgoblin. What was the point of adding that in if there's not a single other Hobgoblin in modern? I doubt we're going to be getting on in the upcoming Deadpool set.
