I really dig this version of Superman, his powerset is quite different from the normal Supes dial but still works for the character. His point costs and great selection of keywords makes him awesome for teambuilding. Running Shot then Hypersonic is great, flurry at the end is alright. The 'Arctic Breath' SP is very useful and 'For Toworrow' giving him Super Strength and Willpower is a great combo for Supes. Opening Shape Change, early Super Senses and even some Prob Control in the middle makes this Superman dial really stand out; for the better I say. Not to be overlooked, his trait is also quite useful, especially on Metroplois and JLA teams when most figs will be 100pts or less. His end dial is awesome with some pretty high numbers. Overall a great Superman that is different and powerful without feeling cheesy or overpowered.
@Superkruxx I agree with you. In the way of offensive capabilities, not quite as good as the 300pt version. But on the defensive side of the house, definately outshines the common!! His opening SC at the 200pt level represenbts his transformation from Clark Kent to Supes. Arctic Breath can tie up those indom pieces that like waiting in stealth (batman family hint, hint). But his trait "champion of the opressed" or as I like to call it "creator of awesome meat shields" allows him to use other characters defensive powers while boosting their own defensive values. And he has PC to help ensure he gets that hit in or forces the opposing character to roll again. Just an awesome figure with great versatility without being absurdly powerful!
With the updates to Incap come June 2013, that Arctic breath power is going to be a killer! Perfect against those Mystic or Indomitable or Colossal Stamina figs, dealing 1 penetrating damage while also disabling other figs adjacent to them!
Amazing piece. I played it with some JLeaguers against Ziran, the Tester at 600 pts on the Starcore Space Station (GSX FF). Ziran destroyed everyone... but Superman, who stayed on click 4 and started hitting and running. Ziran was multiattacking every turn, moving and destroying terrain, but Superman was far more mobile and after half station turned into debris... Our favourite kriptonian dealt the killing blow! It's a pity it doesn't have :d-indomitable:, but I understand why.
While most Superman dials capture the power of the character, this Superman instead aims to capture the feel of him, which is why I still often play him even though I own the WF SR that is better for the same points. Having a verity of tricks up his sleeve while lending a helping hand to lower point friendlies makes this a great Silver/Bronze age Superman, and his boatload of keywords(including my favorite one Legion of Super Heroes) make him easy to build teams around. I don't think there's a single keyword you'd want on a Superman that isn't here(well I'd like for him to have scientist just to represent his often forgotten super-intelligence). I've played this guy numerous times and he never disappoints, even when he losses he does it taking some enemies down with him. And I just love it when he lands on his last click and gives it one last try before getting KO'ed. Definitely this is one of the top Superman dials in my opinion.
