It's definitely not the strongest meta, but I've always had a lot of fun with this build for 400. One the right map with a lot of hindering, Rat King does an awful lot of work. Alpha One gets to teleport someone regardless of walls or elevation into a nice killbox with the Foot Clan.
Non-binary. Please refer to me in "they/them" pronouns. Thank you.
You're doing golden, and your only restriction is theme. It doesn't even have to be named! What's stopping you from playing a team you enjoy?
Good point!!!! One of my favorite teams I ran was a martial artist theme with a character from as many different universes as I could squeeze into the point build. I think I ended up with Batman (duh), Legolas, Shredder, and Daredevil. It was a lot of fun and I got to play characters I enjoy.
Honorable Mention: I have been wanting to run an Authority team:
- Fl048 Apollo (200pts.)
- Fl049 Midnighter (100pts.)
- Fl017 Swift (90pts.)
- Weapon drop or maybe some other resource/object/relic
Midnighter makes for a brutal second attacker and Apollo will keep opponent busy. And Swift has that really cool free movement thing to get in position for empower or just to make an attack.
400pts. exactly. Played this exact team at my venue when I ran a GA event once. I thought it was funny, at least. Hint: Keep Probbing with Outsider until he kills himself. Also, Decoy on Adam for Camo (in case that wasn't obvious), Wall on Outsider while he's around to keep making Adam invisible.
You can also sub the AtA for one of the less useful Constructs,
if you think people will be playing stuff that can Outwit Adam.
I have always liked to make my own "theme" up. The Handicapable (have to know a bit about some characters, like that Hawkeye is deaf in one ear), Honest Chuck & The Factory to Dealer Incentives (Professor X and anyone else in a suit), so on and so forth.
The most recent iteration of this is/was characters that have "star" in their name somewhere. Played them at 300pts. against a team of various Spider-Men from What If?:
83 SoG Starfire
75 SM&LosH Stargirl
73 WXM Shatterstar
65 WoL Dex-Starr
04 Scorpio Key (only because I hate leaving points off)
300
It was fun and there's PLENTY of great figures with "star" in their name; Warstar, Stardust, Starlord, etc. Give it a whirl!
Losers of the "The Floor Is Lava" game:
GI Colossal Boy - FI Thor - TV Robin - WoL Red Lantern Recruit
This is one of my favorite pet themed builds. The key is to have orange battery choose precision strike. Envy shoudl be getting ES/D or free barrier from the construct. Protection from precision means that spectre will now have protection from outwit, while having super senses, KC ta, and impervious from ion along with a 19 defense and probability control. Give him spotlight so he can outwit and fire from 12 range. Total is under 400 so you have room for more support if you need.
Use Jack to TK the Manhunter out into hindering for an alpha strike.
Next turn another strike with the Manhunter then tk him back to Jack for safety.
Jack's ability can be used to your advantage if you win map roll. Oh....did I mention that Manhunter, Jack, and call in Iron Man have prob top dial. It's a fairly easy build with very few moving parts (I.e.: no resources).
Timey Wimey Wibbley Wobbly.... just not in that order....
