This guy is going to pair very well with the LE Symbiote object. Adding plasticity and shape change with the possibility of a +1 to all values each turn? Yes, please.
Got a chance to play this guy for the first time the other day. I liked him on paper (been playing the OP, the AVX, and the FI versions of Spidey for so long I was pretty keen on a sub-100 pointer) and he just became my go-to Spider-Man. Took out half the opposing team in a 600 point match easily. There's a few things he could have to make him Spectacular (already mentioned by other posters) but for 80 points? I'm in love. Great figure.
And the sculpt, as also has been said, is beautiful. I know it's a bit static, but the pose and musculature says "about to jump into action" rather than waiting for the bus. He's an "on the shelf" instead of "in the tackle box" figure.
Oh yeah, SFoSM 049 is a stronger piece for only 20 points more- or at any rate, takes a lot less setup and forethought than this guy. For that same reason, though, 049 is becoming one of those pieces where you kind of groan when you see it across the table- at least around my area.
This piece is more flavorful than 049. This Spidey charges down a wall, two chances to hit for 3 each, if he makes either one he gets to Sidestep away (ideally back up a wall) to where his ESD can do some good. He's either using the force of his attack to bounce away and dodge, or he missed and he's kind of hosed. That feels like Spidey to me. ESD with trait Super-Senses helps him survive the approach and, again, feels like "my kind of Spidey." 9 attack on the back dial is a little low, but that's why he's an 80-pt Uncommon instead of a 100-pt Super-Rare.
So yeah. If you keep only one Peter Parker Spider-Man, I'd make it this one. You might not win as much, but you'll have more fun, make more friends, and save about twenty bucks.
Like those before me, this feels like Spidey to me. Something about how he works, ya know? Plus it helps this was one of the clix from my first booster, if I remember correctly. Man, memories. While SR 49 is great, don't get me wrong, this one is mine; when I need a good classic Peter Parker, this is my man.
