Ted's just a big ol' waste of plastic. He can't hit a barn, he can't dodge a thing, he can't be carried, which also means no help DV-wise from Umbra or Warlock, etc, and he can't use objects.

My advice is to never play him. Ever.

UPDATE JAN 2014: Hey, you can use GG036 Silver Surfer to carry him around 12 spaces and use ASM005 Dr. Strange to give him an 18 defense! Add in FI007 Iron Fist to finish the Defenders theme team. Total cost, 497 points. Don't get your hopes up about winning prizes with this Golden Age team... it's just for fun.

By no means am I claiming hes better than he is, but one of the coolest moments of my clix career was using ted with armor piercing and ICWO to KO critical mass silver surfer in a 200 point game. if you get lucky with impervious rolls he can do far more damage than he has any right to.

Don't really get the hate. With a high-defense Defender, he can really wreak some havoc - with poison you don't really need a high attack.

... He only has the Key Word "Defenders", not the Defenders Team Ability. You'd need to run him with SI Doc Strange (or some defend) to get a higher Defense, but you're better off just slapping Armor Piercing and Submerged on him and pairing him up with Namor (again, with Submerged) and Howard the Duck. With the remaining 4 points, try an Alias on Namor or Ted here and watch as Namor (and Howard, to a lesser extent) draw all the attacks so Ted can Poison away.

Or, don't play him, as you'll need to make the Impervious rolls to stand any sort of chance.

why is he listed as having dolphin move? I can't find erratta to support this anywhere.

Man-Thing lives in a swamp full of water down in the Florida Everglades (which has the Nexus of All Realities in it), so it makes sense that he would have dolphin move to represent being able to move well underwater.
