Sentinel, playing outdoors, tracing LOF counts like elevated fig. When affect him hindering terrain ?. Only when a fig is placed top of hindering terrain ??.
When Sentinel plays indoor, hindering terrain affects him normally like others figs?? (there isnt elevated terrain playing indoors).
this question comes up all the time... and I still have never figured it out.
Figure bases - otherwise blocking terrain - do not block LOS. However, a bush or gumball machine will (and that's only hindering - not blocking)... Ugh. My head hurts.
I play Sentinels all the time and I still have many questions. shin, if you can enlighten us - please do and let us know why.

Well, after reviewing the rules for the 12th time or so, the best I can figure is that Sentinels can attack characters on elevated terrain - but the Sentinel itself remains on grounded terrain. Therefore, it doesn't get the bonus of ignoring hindering terrain.
Dumb rule if you ask me. A Sentinel can attack a soaring figure or an elevated figure. A Sentinel can see over figure bases. It should be able to see over a bush.

Wizkids make figs without consistent rules for them
With the new rules "is considered adjacent to characters squares regardless of elevation (grounded, elevated or soaring), its incredible that you cannot shoot over a bush ¡¡.
I think big figs rules, needs a more extensive FAQ than actually have.

Only 12? Man yer behind.....
Anyway, you are correct. A Sentinel on grounded terrain is still considered grounded, and terrain affects him normally when attacking other grounded figures.
The exception is that a Sentinel attacks Elevated and Soaring figures as if his is at the same level, even though he is not.
Interestingly enough, an elevated Sentinel attacks a grounded figure as normal, meaning that the Sentinel is considered Elevated for that attack...
Sentinel cannot draw LOF to an enemy fig because he isnt at border of elevated terrain (like the general rule).
The enemy fig also cannot draw LOF to Sentinel
