Welcome back everyone to another Causing a Scene-ario!
Well, we're here. Avengers Infinity War has released! The Guardians have met the Avengers, and Thanos has dropped his big boot on Ole Terra Firma. As I write this, I haven't seen the movie. Some things are known, SPOILER for those who haven't even seen trailers!!

Vision probably isn't going to have a fun time. Iron Man gets slapped around, Star Lord mouths off. Anyone wonder if Rocket will actually ask for Bucky's arm? (Or should that be White Wolf?)
The bare bones scenario I thought of was you could only use characters confirmed to be in the movie. Or if you see the movie and can show someone not listed that is in it, go ahead and allow them. That's a big list (I pulled this list from Wikipedia.. so grain of salt here:
As of this writing, I'm not certain who Peter Dinklage is playing. Thaddeus Ross probably
isn't turning into Red Hulk, but who says you can't allow it anyway. You could allow the
Hulkbuster as that's been shown in trailers. I wouldn't do this as Modern Age, or the Black Order won't be playable at all. Do Silver/Golden/"Oreo" to open it up.
Since there appears to be a lot of random teaming up, you could opt for some Keyword
shenanigans. Maybe Thaddeus Ross/Red Hulk doesn't break theme for SHIELD or Guardians of the Galaxy doesn't break an Avengers theme team. Play around with some options to increase fun team builds! Another game element you could do is to use Thanos' "Half the Universe" thing, and at the end of each round, each player removes X points from their team. So round 1 is full points, round 2 is X points less, and round 3 is X more points less. Maybe consider a 700/600/500 pattern.
Another option for playing out the Infinity War/Quest is using the Event Dial:
These were elements you could get in boosters. You could use the objects of the Gauntlet resource for the gems, just set the base aside. This will allow you to recreate the Thanos Quest. It's also pretty easy to use in a tournament setting.
For a home game, break out that Thanos Shrine figure and go nuts! Play out the story as listed on the character card.
I think my final scenario for a tournament build would look something like this:
Quote
700 Points
Oreo Age
Marvel Universe elements only
Only characters that appear in Infinity War can be used. Build with more figures than less
Characters with the "Guardians of the Galaxy" keyword do not break theme on an "Avengers" theme team.
Hope everyone enjoys the movie, I saw it yesterday and feel like I need to go again. I do have a nephew that needs to see it! See you next time, go out and Cause a Scene-ario!
Contrary to popular belief, I do know what I'm doing
I've watched a couple reviews, and like Star Wars the Last Jedi, the people who have seen it at least 2 times got WAY more out of it. Probably going 2nd time on Tuesday and a 3rd time, with friends, on the 12th.
I like what you did here. If I could make a request, I’d like to see your take on another classic story. Please make a Kingdom Come scenario
They say the best weapon is one you never have to fire. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once. That's how Dad did it, that's how America does it, and it's worked out pretty well so far." Robert Downey/Tony Stark
for Peter Dinklage's character, I would suggest this single pog.

(Damage) Weapon Crafting: Give Dwarf a power action to place a standard light object from outside the game into an adjacent square. When M, you may place a standard heavy object instead.
It's more accurate than you may think, especially if you house rule his dial to generate the following according to this scenario (possibly with a double power action).

For the classic "meet up, fight, team up" bit that occurs around the halfway mark, you can make that into two 200pt squads pretty easily (all Modern Age, even, for a minute).
You can also make the team that goes with Thor in a couple ways… straightforward, or with Splitlip as a proxy for Peter Dinklage and your choice of Fear Itself Hammer for Stormbreaker.
The earth-bound forces are tougher, even if you use comics versions rather than movie versions—there aren’t any “budget Hulkbusters,” and the Wakandan forces are tricky to represent (even if you use the Chair Panther from ADW). I’ll let someone else take a crack at those…
