Haven't played a competitive game in a long time, nearest store is a 3 hour drive and I haven't had the time/money. But I'm finally going to make it to an ROC event next month. I've been looking at this team and could use some advice.

Only thing I don't have here is a Wolverine to go with the ID, but I think I know who I can borrow one from. Also considering Cyclops, as I have his student ID, or another student ID such as Chamber.
I know the defenses on the main attackers are low, but that's why the baron Spider-Man, and Iron Goblin brings his own up 2/3 of the time with perplex or plus 1 to stats. Played it a couple times so far and won each time, going to playtest it some more. What do you think works or doesn't work here?

I'm not a meta expert, but when I look at your team there would be concerns.

Like Outwit is gonna destroy you. Iron Goblin is fun but only 5 clicks on his 100 pt dial.
Captain Marvel has to steal energy before she is strong.

It could be a fun team IMO. But it depends what you're going for, I would maybe rethink the team a little.

Then again, the fun thing is you can build however you want. I just wouldn't take that team if I were driving 2-3 hrs for an event.

(On a deep and personal level I like what you have going on there.)

I guess my question is are you going to compete or are you going to play and have fun and see how well you do?

From looking at recent lists, the big things you have to contend with are a lot of retal and a lot of call-ins. I would also be concerned with the Sheriff Stranges you are going to see outranging you. I kind of like the Cyclops SR call-in for that reason over the Wolverine but I have my personal biases.

Played a few more games with it, and won each one except against a Green Arrow that got Energy Explosion inspired (Storm wanted ID) and TKed into position while I had my team grouped up. Think I'm going to go with Chamber for a call in. Spider-Man can always call him in while he's waiting in stasis if anyone comes after him, and I mostly hold my team back while his tokens clear, concentrating on defense. Giant Girl I send after lower threats at first, try to get her healed up so she'll last longer against bigger pieces. Keep Ms Marvel with Spider-Man so she can carry him into battle once his tokens clear. It has been working.
But I've also only been testing this against one person as he throws some of his better teams against me. May be a bit harder to do all this in a more competitive setting. My friend has been playing in tournaments more than I have tho.

Two other teams I had in mind were a Foot Clan team with Karai, Shadowcat, Mini Shredder and Kydai Ken. Doesn't have the mobility I wanted though.
The other is a Blackbird team, but I would have to heavily borrow or buy ID cards and characters I don't have to make it good. Not sure I want to do that.
A monster team like the world's winner would be great, but I only have 2 of those pieces. Mini and one Carnage. LoL

Its hard to go wrong with mini shredder imo

Okay, so after some more playtesting, the team above still does really good for me. But! I have this other team that is closer to a competitive team and it looks a lot like the championship team. I'm just not sure if I want to go for this or use my more "unique" team.

I'm having to borrow almost half of this team, but I have someone that's lending me the pieces, so may as well I guess. Grim Reaper on the team to KO STOP clicks, and because I don't have all those other retaliators.

That team is pretty close to the team that won worlds in a way. Probably better chance of making a deep run.

If you have 2 destroyer thors, they could carry around mini shredder. They sidestep 2 times in a turn allowing for plenty of shenanigans imo.

Two Destroyer Thors would be 250 points and Mini Shredder is 90. On their lower point dials they don't start with the special sidestep.

How about Witch Queen LaFey.
HSS + Sidestep mean three move during one turn.

Yeah, realized after post. I was thinking two at 75 instead of Namor. But id go with the team the mimics worlds.
