1. Hindering terrain. I know that hindering terrain does not count towards determining IF a line of fire can be drawn to the character, but does the targetted figure who has hindering terrain between himself and the pulse waver get the +1 modifier to his defense? If he doesn't, can someone point me to the phrase (in the PAC, rules, or FAQ) that make this clear.
2. Defend Super Power. Let's say that Cyborg (Range of 6, halved is 3) is 4 squares away from Dr. Fate Vet (who has an 18 defense with Defend). Adjacent to Dr. Fate is a friendly figure. This figure is within 3 squares of cyborg. If Cyborg uses PW, what is this character's defense considered (his natural defense or the 18 from Dr. Fate)?

PULSE WAVE (optional): Give this character a ranged combat action. Reduce its range value by half. Draw lines of fi re to every character (friendly and oposing) within range in every direction. This attack ignores all team abilities and powers and abilities possessed by characters within range. These lines of fire are not blocked by character bases, but are affected normally by terrain. If clear lines of fire can be drawn to two or more characters, this character’s damage value becomes 1 for this attack; otherwise, use this character’s normal damage value. Compare the attack roll to the defense value of each character in range; each hit character is dealt damage.
HT does count and gives a +1.
2) Pulse only affects figures in range, so if the defend figure, Dr. Fate in your example, is out of the 1/2 range then his powers would remain unchanged and the fig being hit would share his higher defence. If that figure has energy shield however, that would not be included.
