Yeah, it wasn't until I realized that 4am there is 7am here and I'm just not about to get up that early for a prank...

Aaron and his friends were indeed a pleasure to hang out with. I met them on friday and spent most of the weekend running around with them. We didn't do so well in the tournament Sunday but we had a lot of fun. Hoping to get him set up with a venue someplace close to him so they can play a few more Wizkids sponsored events. Would also like to say that the person that won fellowship on Sunday(can't remember his name) was one of the funnest people to be around and was very deserving of the award.
p.s. finally got my name changed on here to my wizkids name, former name lanchfan(no more hockey, no more fans )
Originally posted by hair10 Everyone seemed to be having a good time during the event. As Bad6423 said, HC players are some of the best. In fact, there is a Vs $10,000 tourney going on in the same room we are running our events in. One Vs player came over to piranha to ask about HC because he was tired of the cut-throat environment of Vs. I guess that there were only about 4 decks being played by everyone there. This player had faced the exact same deck 5 times played by different people.
::Dies of laughter:: The worst players I've ever met are all most exclusively from Heroclix (one in my top 5 in a VS player). Though that's not a bad reflection on Clix players, as some of the nicest are too... But come on. Heroclix is just as cut throat at VS. At least with one of the games Con Artists aren't the power player on every team. Though I'm hopeful ICWO will continue to relieve that a little. And isn't Black Adam kinda popular? No? Liar.
clix can be cutthroat, but in all of the card games i have played there seems to be about 95 percent of them are jerks where as in clix, only about 30 to 50 percent are. and that's saying a lot.
Ya had a blast out there. Met Gimpy, The Atom, Sithspawn, Groovyboy, Hair10 and lots others I cant remember there realms names.
Saturday did the tourny,
My team
Vet Supergirl
Exp Batgirl
Vet Brainiac 5
Exp Hawkgirl
Went 4-0 and finished 4th for the day. Played Groovyboy on my last game. He had me on the rim till I broke away with my almost dead hawkgirl and shot up his deadshot to get enough points to win. It seemed like almost all of us who ended up 4-0 didnt think our teams were that good and we would lose right away.
Sunday went 1-1
My team
R Jinx
E Jinx
V Jinx
SR Etrigan w/Haymaker
V Robin
R Huntress
LE Red hood
First game I lost to guy with a KC Flash and Venom. Should have beat him but they called time, just needed like 3 more turns. Flash was on last click.
Next game I played the Atom. His Thor pounded two Jinxes so figured I needed to run up after him. His Thor was pushed and took 3 dmg for mystics and a push. So I push my jinx, hit him for 2 and then I push my Etrigan to Haymaker and hit him with a Heavy Object for 7, dealing 2 to myself and KOd him. But like he said if could have hit me with his bulleye he would have had me most likely. Great guy though, had fun talking to him and hanging out with him while I was there. I think I finished around top the 16 for the day. Had fun thats all that mattered.

I know I am EXTREMELY late in posting this, but here is my team on Saturday and my games at WW LA:
My Team
U Nubia
R Black Adam
V Cyborg
V Braniac 5
My Booster pulls were the following:
Booster 1
U Bat Sentry
V Raven
R Black Adam
Booster 2
R Two Face
E Raven
E Killer Croc
R Hawkgirl
Booster 3
E Scarecrow
V Braniac 5
V Cyborg
U Nubia
I didn't have too many options and with what I pulled I knew Black Adam was going to be my heavy hitter even though it was only the Rookie. I also knew that Outwit is ALWAYS nice to have and thus Braniac 5 made the cut, too. And boy! Did he earn his keep. I think he is the only reason I made it as far as I did.
Round 1
My opponent (Jim South, no HCR handle):
V Science Police
V Batgirl
R Braniac 5
V Supergirl
E HDC Trooper
I got a full sweep here and didn't lose any of my team. Nubia got the MVP over Black Adam. That Flurry/BCF combo is sweet!
Round 2
My opponent (Dwight Maxwell, lilpanama):
V Raven
E Science Police
E DEO Agent
V Cyborg
V Shade
R Braniac 5
Another full sweep by me without losing any of my army. This was a very tough game though and I really had to maneuver well to get the clean sweep. I always knew Shade was a very good piece and now I knew firsthand why.
Round 3
My opponent (Roland Wellington, no HCR handle [yet]):
Roland is the guy that won the whole thing. I can definitely say he is a very good player and we had a very interesting game to say the least. Our game was like a chess match between the pros.
His army was:
E Gotham Undercover
E DEO Agent
U Ultrahumanite
E Hal Jordan
E Deadshot
The first couple rounds were us just jockeying for position and me pushing Black Adam to get off his Activation click.
Then, in the third round (I won the die roll) I goofed BIG TIME. I put Black Adam inside a room and far enough back where I thought I was out of LOS of my opponent's army. I have no idea what I was thinking because once Roland TK'ed Deadshot up with GL I was an easy target. And, let me tell you, it's not hard to hit R BA's 15 Defense. Sadly, I missed my Impervious roll and I knew the game was over right then and there.
Like the great chess masters Roland and I walked ourselves through the next 3-5 rounds without actually playing the game and we agreed that within 3-5 rounds he would get a clean sweep of me. There was no way my team could compete against Roland's long range guns.
We tried playing a couple rounds out, and just like the walk-through, I lost Nubia easily. Instead of having me just run around HOPING to get BtB Roland allowed me to concede the game to him and he accepted his Nubia kill as the win. I know alot of people would have went for the full sweep, but Roland was a class act and very honorable opponent. I am glad that he won the whole show on Sunday. He deserved it.
Round 4
My opponent (David Whalen, corsair):
E Doctor Fate
E Hal Jordan GL
E Cyborg
For only having 3 guys on his team this team was VERY hard to get around. My characters didn't have high AVs and his 17 and 18 Defenses were next to impossible to hit.
This is where my V B5 earned his keep. His Outwit kept GL from RCE'ing me to annihilation. I wound up losing my V Cyborg and, eventually, V B5. B5 went down swinging, though. At the end of the game B5 and Doc Fate were BtB and I had Fate down to his last click or next to last click. His GL was also on his next to or last click. I did wind up KO'ing his E Cyborg, but lost on points.
This was an amazing game that if there had been time to play 1 or 2 more rounds I would have gotten the victory instead. David was a very good player and even though I lost I think this was my best game all day.
