For me it makes him interesting, you know, since I thought he was dumb to begin with.
Him being dumb is what made him likeable......The fact is I want to know how he basically is supposed to be like 16 years old. And now he's in his 20's. Joey pretty much ####ed up any chance I'll see of a Speedball Heroclix. And his new powers are dumb as ####

Him being dumb made him likable to you and a few others, but to me and what are probably a lot more people (when was the last time he was in any comic?), we mostly thought he was lame. Personally, I like the new direction with him and his new powers might be a bit much, but it's certainly more interesting then being able to bounce off of stuff. Yeah, he could do that extra stuff as well like extending the field, but he was still the guy who bounced.
I'll be honest...I didn't like what they did to the New Warriors to begin with. I was a big fan of the series. Now I am glad Nova is getting his due. But killing half the team and making Speedball a chainmail pain freak is stupid. Will it make him a better character probably. But I don't have to like it. For me he will always be Speedball.
That would be funny to see Tony offer everyone in the Negative Zone a spot in his states. When they refuse he justs clones them anyway. On a note to Norman he has found a way around the nanaotech implanted in him. I can see Tony getting screwed over and Norman taking the mantle of the Ironman armor (effectively heading shields actions).
Well, why should Stark even offer those in custody the opportunity to play on thier team? I mean he must have DNA samples of everyone in custody and as we saw with Thor, he has no qualms with cloning for his own agenda. And using the one sin custody takes faith in the people they locke dup. Look at Arachne. Recruited and sent out and she had her own agenda. Granted she did think they were going to help the antiregs and not vice versa, but when people have a free will you can never really control them. Maybe Stark already figures most will refuse and asking them would be just for show, like his whole congressional hearings was. He knew wha twould happen and wen tthrough the motions just to play the part. Most likely he has already started cloning and the 50 states initiative will use Clones in different uniforms or what not, but same powers to police the county. It sounds like how Stark would work.
And on the point of Cloning. Someone explain to me the difference between SHEILD LMD, CLones, and someting like Madrox or the Collective man's dupes. Is it just about free will? And what about AI's like Vision and the Original Human Torch? Just when do we draw the moral line? Who is deserving of civil rights and who are just constructs?
The selfish infect us all with sad, vulgar, sexual references and a constant barage of innapropriate innuendo. A pity to be subjected to this against our wills, but to allow it into our lives with open arms shames us all

Yeah, I think that pretty much sums up my feelings on him.

Don't worry Speedball fans, 616 Speedball switched places with an alternate reality version of himself when Nitro blew up and opened a portal to the alternate land. Comics are fun

Man, that sounds like an interesting storyline I would like to see intelligently investigated in comic books.
Sadly, we have Civil War instead, a good idea gone horribly, horribly wrong.

Don't forget the bad guy AI's, like Quasimodo, Tess-1 and Adam II (Phineas Horton's second android) as well as other AI's gone bad (there's a video series title for you). Whose to say they couldn't be dismantled simply because they're no "alive" ?
Even this "Clor" thing is a clone and cyborg mix. Not a good thing, obviously. Just break out a quija board and ask Bill Foster about that.
Anyhow, lets see whose got morals and who doesn't so far during Civil Wars.
Oh, and, The Original Torch was nothing like the current crop of AI's, let's remember, he was more human then the Vision. None of those complicated storylines with him trying to plug himself into something or another. I miss that guy, but not the way they were making him out to be the last time out. Like they brought him back just to wipe him out. Pisser storyline there.

But just becasue the AIs are designed to be "bad" doesnt mean that they shoulndt have civil rights. If they are sentient then they have the same rights. Just becasue living humans are bad doesnt automatically strip them of the right of choice or the right to live. Ussally it has to be decided in a court of law. Thats what I mean. When do the rights begin and the AIs considered more then constructs. When are they free men? And what are the qualifications that need to be met to be a real person. Free thinking? Good behaviour? A soul? Whose to say any of these can be quantified in a real sense? These are things that will one day soon become real issues.
