I'm still waiting to find out Amy's mom pulled a last minute switcharoo and that's why Amy's become more and more corrupt over the years.
Okay, not really likely but, I dunno, I liked Amy and it's kind-of a shame to see her "turning into her mother" so easily.
Ehhhh, I don't see a problem with it. They spent a couple of seasons explaining that Magic needed to be used carefully or it corrupts you. Amy was constantly shown as "in it for kicks" and not big into the caution stuff. Her going full on Evil is pretty easy to buy.
Not to mention bitterness at being kept as a pet.....
I didn't say it wasn't "done right" or "hard to buy" or such - just that I didn't like it. I liked the idea of Amy resisting her mother's legacy instead of going full out Medium Bad.
Canada_Maestro - Not just you, but I really couldn't figure out who the secret admirer was based on this issue.
Overall, an interesting read. I like how they casually addressed that just because Dawn's big she's not "superhero-powered". I also like Xander being adamant in his new role (and doing well at it - I got the impression the mirror strategy was in-part his) though it was oddly touching that Buffy seemed almost heartbroken that Xander wasn't going into battle alongside her. Considering how much over the last few years they'd relegated him to "comedy sidekick" - or the person they told to stay away from the fighting - it was surprising but a nice acknowledgement of her realizing how used she had become to his being there over the years.
Still, I'm having trouble with the whole Warren thing but just like "Buffy's brand-new sister retcon" I'm hoping it gets addressed in a suitable manner and isn't just a big gaff.
Pity to have to wait an extra month to get the next issue.

I'm interested in the adaptation of the original screenplay the most but if the others are half decent I might pick this up instead of the Origin on its own.
It does kinda stink that they shrunk the page size though.

I've read the stories and found them pretty enjoyable. Some of them verge on "fluff" and, honestly, the Origin story isn't so different from the movie - little less campy, admittedly, plus uses SMG-style Buffy instead of Swanson - that you should just grab it solo if you have the option of getting other tales as well. Really, more adventures of the Scooby Gang during season three (the primary season for the tales in that Omnibus) isn't a bad thing and gives you a definite Buffy-fix.

It could be a red herring mind you...but I think he's referring to..

In ish 3 When Buffy wakes up she says:
"I have a funny feeling on my mouth. CINNAMON BUNS!"
Then she gets confused and starts talking about her dream.
Then in ish 4 as her and Satsu are getting ready she borrows Satsu's lip gloss and comments:
"Cinnamon."
So the idea is she woke up tasting Satsu's lip gloss. But this could SOOOOO easily be a red herring that I don't really count it as any kind of proof.
Doh! Red herring or not, that's a good catch and one that flew past me (I was too focused on Xander going uber-Watcher ).
Then again it may also have something to do with me thinking of cinammon buns and "cinammon" as tasting fairly different but I suspect you're right and they are meant to be "Buffy's clue".

I'm not doubting you and I think I remember reading that it would be 2 issues but I can't find where. And in an interview with Wizard back in March (possibly late February) Vaughan said this:
"WHAT’S YOUR STORY ABOUT? [Fellow Slayer] Faith is going to be the star of my four-issue arc, which is totally thrilling to me, because I love her. I’m going to be writing issues #6-#9. I believe that turnabout is fair play; since Joss is following me on [Marvel’s] Runaways, I owed it to him to jump in after he took off."
So it's been planned as 4 for quite a while.
Edit: I just discovered where I heard that it was 2 issues, it was here on this thread when you posted it. :D

I know, double posts are evil. But I didn't want these posts merged.
I'm going to have to re-read issue 5. Maybe I was just too tired last night but all the time shifting kept getting to me. And in the end, it didn't really have me connecting as much with this "Buffy" as I probably should have. I kinda enjoyed it I guess but I just had this feeling of "yeah, yeah, let's just move on to the Faith story already."
