Why does Donatello not fit? I thought that Eastman & Laird were going for names of Reinassance sculptors/artists?

Donatello - who's also known more for advancements in sculpting than as a painter which is a bit different as well - was much earlier than the other three; in fact, he was dead before the other three even got really got going. Leonardo, Michaelangelo and Raphael are considered the "trinity" of the High Renaissance while Donatello is early enough in the Renaissance that he's considered a different period of it (and barely even in that one).

In fairness, Donatello's work is considered to be one of the things that had a heavy influence on the other three, particularly Michaelangelo. Still someone like Bramante may have made more sense.

Really though Don's my favourite of the Turtles and I just blame my upbringing for engraining into my head as to why he didn't fit with the other three's names.
