Hmm. . . unexpectedly got our LotR clix and Superman FFs today. Typically they come in on Tuesdays. Also the Mage Knight Board Game came too!

I'm a huge fan of the Superman FF. Plays even better than they look.

Can't tell if I am excited about LoTR clix or not-- I'm so behind in playing/absorbing new stuff, that a whole new set of rules and new universe seems like a lot.

(Special) The Free Lands Will Fall: When Sauron attacks a stack of horde tokens and deals damage, roll a d6; on a result of 3-4 you may remove one additional token; and on a result of 5-6 you may remove two additional tokens.

(Epic) Frozen with Fear: Give Sauron an epic action and choose one opposing character for each 200 points of the build total. Until your next turn, the chosen characters cannot be given move actions or power actions unless there are no other opposing characters.

(Speed) The Shadow Across the Land: Sauron can use Phasing/Teleport. When he does, after actions resolve he may make a close combat attack modifying his attack value by -2.

(Attack) One Ring to Rule Them All: Sauron can use Pulse Wave as if he had a range value of 10. When he uses Pulse Wave and hits, you may give the hit character an action token instead of dealing damage.

(Damage) Ring of Power: Unless this power is countered, Sauron's other powers and abilities cannot be countered. Sauron can use Exploit Weakness, Outwit and Perplex.

After looking at it, I think this could be a good Hulk dial. You would just have to change Phase/Teleport to Leap/Climb both in the special power and standard power. Maybe switch the trait to a trait of Super Strength and just get rid of Steal Energy and late dial Outwit.

So it's sort of doable. . .

OK, while I agree in spirit with those hoping for a Worldbreaker Hulk, I'm officially sick of the complaining now.

B-b-b-b-but... we're just warming up!




But, yeah, I got over much of the disappointment a while ago, in stages, especially once I realized that I mainly have to:

A. Keep Feats in mind.
and
B. Largely give up on Wizkids when it comes to keywords, and just assign any that make sense to me for the character.


Generally not having to worry about venue play with respect to the above helps.

Still, I do want Wizkids to know that they disappointed many with something that to the best of our knowledge was completely within their control. They've already made their money on this set -- mostly months ago... now any design problems are the concern for the wholesalers and retailers -- so they're not going to get the direct $$ feedback from the consumers on this. They're giving attention to Galactic Guardians now, as that's where their next big Heroclix income stream is coming from -- it's underway now.

Me? I'm just hoping these 'Cosmic' guys we're getting don't job to the X-Men.

I've got nothing against a well-written letter of comment to WK about disappointment. That's not the kind of complaining that bugs me (as it's constructive). It's the sideways leaking comments all over the board today and sarcastic complaints about it.

And I was having the samr thought about feats-- a cheaper Hulk in Golden Age means more room to feat him up, which could really work out well. The Common Hulk with Double Time and Fortitude could really tear up the place.
