Great idea. I think that it is viable. Right now E1 supes is going to be overlooked on a lot of teams. The question is how does the team do when he goes down? Will Captain Marvel be on the field when Supes goes down?
The AE power is on the second click, so you could presumably have him out on turn 2 if you take the unavoidable damage from the Gauntlet to not click it.
IDK how quickly he could get into the fray with this, though. I haven't even used the Gauntlet yet, so don't know where Running Shot is on the dial (if it's even on there; I know Charge is).
I'm sure that if Supes gets the first hit, he'd survive long enough for Marvel to back him up. HSS end-dial would help him escape and set up a second run.
Beast Boy is the only legal outsiders now. I think building with him on the team isn't a bad idea.
But if the person on 2/3 goes ahead and Pulse Waves then the TA is ignored and the stats come back right? Considering he's only 6 damage from a KO most the big guys like Metron and Imperiex and WL Sinestro such will do that to him with a single Pulse Wave if they get to 2/3, if he's alive at that point.

jtallday- Jon I wouldn't challenge you if I wasn't sure you are wrong cuz I don't have that kind of energy.
What about using the IG on beast boy, with the ability to pick his best form for what you need at the moment and the possibility of using Outsiders if needed?

It's not terrible. The Beast boys can be given move actions to 'morph' that don't deal pushing, so they an spin the dial. Between BB's SC and the cheetah's SS, and their respective auto-breakaway powers, they can run to get healed and survive.
They don't have the longest dials, though, and the gauntlet puts a big target on them. I'd be inclined to give it to regular BB with the time gem for additional defensive support. More than one gem is going to make him too expensive.
How is Catwoman indomitable? Everyone deserves it before her, even Aunt May.

but why would someone use him as a tie up piece in that situation?
i agree his short dial is a drawback, but he is quite useful in the environment

Who said anything about Tie-up? When Sinestro/Metron etc... hit 2/3 they now have RS-PW most likely. Which means if he's in range to use Outsiders, he's in range to get smeared.
I'm just pointing out then when he's MOST needed is when he's most likely to get KO'd. I'm all for Beast Boy being useful, don't get me wrong.

right, and i am aware that he can be handled (who can't) but if you assume you still have a viable attacker in play (otherwise who cares about beast boy) your opponent has challenging choices. particularly since beast boy would most likely be a component on one of your "flash strike" style teams, not a gauntlet roll off.
I just like that he can help neutralize gauntlet bonuses while still being very generally useful, so many teams use CR, ESD, perplex, or special powers that modify values. and he can tie people up, and he can morph into something you need.

There is no doubt there is a lot of stat bonuses running around. I think Perplex use might be at an all time short of the Con Artists days. Also CR/ES-D are far more common on dials than they used to be. That does make him an interesting choice. I'm just saying I don't think he's going to be stopping most of the usual suspects once they have Apotheosis/Godhood. And don't get me wrong, I will probably use him. Again I'm just saying that if my opponent has Metron his 2/3 I'm not thinking "I got this covered, I got Beast Boy." Of course if your team is all healthy then that could be the case. But I don't expect that either. I think he'll work better Post-retirement, and I expect to say and hear that a lot.

and there is the difference in our perspective, i was already thinking post retirement.
