Metallo, Killer Frost and Cheshire received rifts that took them to Lex Luthor. Luthor met their arrival with suspicion but before the night was out, the three had become Luthor's muscle and/or hitwoman, (in Cheshire's case).

Luthor ordered them each to stay low on Lexcorp grounds because he wanted them available later and didn't want them recaptured by the assaulting heroes trying to liberate Metropolis.

And with that, the holding cells of the facility were emptied.

Day 11: Late Evening, An alternate Earth near a duplicated Metropolis.

Big Barda was waiting tensely with Scott Free, near Highfather. They were waiting for news of Apokalips from Orion and Lightray.

Apokalips was in a state of upheaval with Granny Goodness, Kanto, Kalibak, Dr. Bedlam, Steppenwolf and others vying for control.

Darkseid and Desaad had been missing for a long time now and the rest finally felt it was safe enough to vy for control of Apokolips, despite the fact that the Hunger Dogs and the Parademons had apparently followed Darkseid and Desaad to wherever they'd gone.

Barda's excitement could be barely contained. Darkseid, gone forever? That snivelling weasel Desaad gone with him? It was too good to be true!

With the help of the Forever People and possibly Infinity Man, they might eliminate the evil elements of Apokolips permanently.

Barda needed to burn off steam. She stepped away from Highfather and the others and moved outside to burn off steam.

She decided to run. She was hailed by Lonar and in her distraction plunged directly through a rift.

Big Barda plunged through the rift and ran directly into a huge brute with a military haircut and brutal tusks jutting from his lower jaw. The Brute towered over her 7 foot frame.

The brute grabbed her arms, leered down at her and said" You know, you look just like Lainie Kazan." He then slapped Barda away from him.

Barda was a former Female Fury, trained by Granny Goodness herself. There was no way she was going to suffer this humiliation!

She had no idea who Lainie Kazan was but she didn't care. She grasped her mace in a firm grip and lit right into the General. She was angry, but she also revelled in the chance for battle.

Kilowog had waited after John Stewart told him about the many arrivals.

He saw the General arrive and was impressed by his size. When Big Barda arrived and immediately began battling the ten foot plus monster, he had to step in to help.

He soon found that the General was a match for both of them.

John Stewart showed up and the two of them used their power rings to gather the General up and carry his raging carcass off to the asteroid belt and stranded him on an asteroid large enough to contain his massive body. It worked before, it would work now.

The General; who was former Air Force General Wade Eiling, threatened horrible deaths for John Stewart and Kilowog but they were ignored.

Big Barda watched as the monstrous brute was carted away, then lit in to the rampaging parademons with abandon.

Once the word had gotten out that the besieged HDC troopers and Science Police had been pulled out of Metropolis, the decision was made to recall the superheroes from Metropolis lest there be civilian casualties.

The Avengers, X-Men, JLA, Titans and other heroes retreated.

The Maxima/ Nu'Bia fight still raged but Maxima was knocked backwards into a rift and found on her own planet Almerac.

Enraged at being taken from her prey, Maxima turned to deliver her wrath on whoever was available. Unfortunately for her, there was no one available.

The SoD Superman/Beta Ray Bill fight raged on too.

Superman took a hit from Beta Ray Bill that knocked him back into a rift that took him back to Apokolips. Afterwards, both he and Bill collapsed from exhaustion.

Since Wonder Woman was mind controlled by the Puppet Master, the JLA couldn't retreat. Zatanna cast a spell in a desparation move to identify the source of the problem for Wonder Woman's possession. An image of the Puppet Master appeared before them right before a possessed Wonder Woman clapped her hands while Plastic Man tried to restrain her. The repercussions from Wonder Woman's clap knocked Zatanna unconscious.

Still, the Flash had enough time to see the Puppet Master's image and soon scoured the nearby buildings and knocked him out. The Flash then confiscated the clay effigy of Wonder Woman.

The JLA then hastily retreated.

The only fallen villain from this fight that was retrieved by the heroes was Bane.

He arrived to an empty prison facility. With the guards comatose; and the cells intact, they were forced to resort to video to tell how all their captured villains escaped. They were then presented with the first recorded footage of the rifts.

These were turned over to the resident scientists to analyze.

Hank Pym, Hank McCoy, Martin Stein and Ray Palmer were joined by Brainiac 5 in a concerted scientific attempt to resolve their dilemma.

The others had all they could handle, trying to get used to Brainiac 5's abrasive personality.

All right, that's the last of the Unleashed set I plan to add to my ongoing story. I intend to do a supplemental day 12 for Unleashed though, which will introduce that peculiar mail away figure for this set.

The reason I'll do a supplemental is that there isn't enough tag space for the Shade, Big Barda and the General. Not to mention that that one lonesome mail away figure needs a tag.

I realize I have a loose end to deal with.

The Angelus used her teleportation powers and dragged the Witchblade, the Darkness and Ian Nottingham to a desolate desert to continue their battle, which went on through the night.

Deathbird was visited by a rift in reality that showed her Shiar people in great distress. She dove through the rift to lead her people.
