Blades aren't that powerfull in the later fight. Sure but it is still better to have one than going bare-handed.
I don't have any issues with Crimson Typhoon's buzzsaws.
Fist are blunt weapons. Sure but we use hammer to hit nails not with out fist. Not only because our hands are fragile but because swinging the hammer have more force than punching.
Ever thought of how that Kaiju would have felt if that ship wasn't hollow? I'm pretty sure it'll have problems if that was a giant mace.
Different Kaijus have different strength and weaknesses. Yup! Then why the heck would one go with bare hands?
Had free HBO last weekend. Recorded 5 or 6 movies, including Dark Shadows. I wasn't going to pay to own or rent it, but thought I'd try it off HBO.
Depp is good as Barnabus Collins. Eva Green is very good as his tormentor. Too bad the films writers gave them nothing to work with. They introduced several interesting supporting cast, then did nothing with them.
Grounds Keeper Willie (for real) - Jackie Earle Haley is totally wasted after a strong introduction
Victoria Winters - Has a very strange past, can talk to ghosts... nothing
Michelle Pfeiffer and Helena Bonham Carter were also very good in their roles, but had little to do with the plot.
The boy David, appears to be the main storyline, then is dropped in the middle and shows up at the end again.
The sister, no idea what was up with her.
Just rewatched Maverick on Encore HD, and wow, it still holds up really well. Pity Jodie Foster didn't get more roles like this, she was a lot of fun as the con-artist/gambler.

Had wanted to see this and discovered it was at the 2.00 theater. They don't make atmospheric movies like this any more. I enjoyed the creepiness of it all. Great moments and I really enjoyed the performances although Lili Taylor is , as always, Lili Taylor.

Loved that movie! I actually took my mom and sister to see it on a a rare family outing and they were scared to death. I think it might have been even better if i had watched at home in the dark. hard to get scared when the lady behind me wouldn't shut up the whole time. i guess she thought it was okay because she was whispering but it went on through the whole movie.
Finally got around to watching cabin in the woods and I actually really liked it. not really scary at all but definitely original and funny at times.
The wife wanted to see it based on the TV ads that make it look like a wacky comedy.
I noted who directed it and suspected there'd be more too it than that, and there was.
Pretty good gangster flick.
Saw World War Z. Decent enough I guess, though it didn't do much for me. I think they missed an opportunity when

they find what the cure/camouflage is. I was expecting Brad to go get his family just in time to find the Nova Scotia base being overrun, and in the process of evacuating the base he discovers that one of his daughters has a terminal illness. He's able to save her, because the Zombies ignore her, and yet you have that mixture of emotion knowing she's ill.
Wasn't my favorite Z movie by far, but entertaining and I got my money's worth.

Excellent, fun movie. Gets you right there in the heart with the "rah rah" of it all. Loved the angle of the black market for all the Kaiju stuff. Makes complete sense. I even enjoyed Charlie Day being Charlie Day but a little less manic....well...whatever.
Everybody goes down swinging and I love the idea that it takes two similar minds to be able to control such things/drift. Just a fun, fun movie that I would recommend.
Have the feeling that when I see Iron Man 3.... I'll be making no such claims. Call it a hunch. Also.... This Is the End is up, too.
Watched a few films over the past few days: What Lies Beneath, The Woman in Black, and 6 Souls/Shelter. Woman in Black was the most enjoyable of the three for me, but none of them were amazing. What Lies Beneath was by far the most boring of the three.

I've never really been able to connect with ghost stories. They just don't "grab" me.

That's because they're incorporeal. I love 'em, and it was still a snooze-fest. I'm glad the movie relied on jump scares, because it needed the occasional burst of loud music and sound to keep me up.
