"You may be a giant, but I've fought bigger. You don't frighten me," Magog said, blasting Apocalypse with a mighty burst of power, staggering the mutant.
"He is someone I wouldn't want to mess with," Starman said.
"Which one? Apocalypse or Magog?" Hawksmoor asked him.
"Yes," Starman replied, but then took a shot at the weakened Apocalypse.
Apocalypse should be showing 10 Damage after my last turn.
Grifter RS to O8, double targets Deadpool and Apocalypse, AV10 on DV16 for both, +1 for Deadpool, since I'm shooting through hindering. Gets 4. Hawksmoor PCs that to 9. Deadpool's too far away to use his own PC on that. I'll do 1 to Deadpool for the KO - can't have him Regenerating now, the other 1 Penetrating goes to Apocalypse.
Kyle RCE on Apocalypse for a +2 AV, making it 11 on DV15. Gets 7. 2 more to Apocalypse KOs him too.
I could block Apocalypse's replacement, but I'm thinking I'm better off holding onto my actions for next time.
"I've fought more than my share of oversized would-be conquerors in my time with the Green Lantern Corps," Kyle told Apocalypse. "You're nothing special." He created a rocket launcher with his ring and hit Apcalypse with a missile from it that blew him off his feet.
"I will tear you apart for that," Apocalypse said, struggling to stand back up.
"I don't think you'll be doing any more tearing today," Grifter said, shooting him point blank before he could recover. "And don't think I haven't been keeping an eye on you either," he added, turning his guns on Deadpool.
"I'll be back, Red Rider! You haven't seen the last of meeeeeee!" Deadpool said, always playing it for the drama even as he fell.
Onslaught replaces Apocalypse, a perfect representation of the 90s and someone I never use except for situations like this. Attacks Magog, Grifter, Bane. Rolls 7. Let's give 2 to Grifter and 1 each to the big guns.
Moonstone on Magog. Needs 7, rolls 8. 3 penetrating to him. He's taken 5 so far.
Probably my last foray into the 90s is in honor of Kurt Busiek. After a year of alternate universe stuff he brought Marvel, actually the Avengers, back to a place of glory. Lots of figures to represent his run that I've yet to use: Hawkeye, Wonder Man, Triathlon...I was even thinking of Morgan Le Fay but Kang was pivotal in the Avengers Forever run, I'll play him.
Kang rs to I7 on Magog. Needs anything but 2, rolls 4. He's out.
I still have a couple more to bring in from the 90s yet. There were several attempts to revive the Justice Society, first in the 70s, and then in the early 90s, but none of them really took. Until James Robinson revived it in the late 90s, which led to Geoff Johns' spectacular run in the 2000s. Mixing the classic members with young legacy heroes was a great way to rejuvenate the team. Representing this group I'll use Stargirl. JLTW version.
Starman uses RCE for a +1/+1 on Onslaught, AV10 on DV17. Gets 8, but Imperv is 5.
Stargirl RS to T12, shoots at Onslaught, AV10 on DV17. Gets 11. Impervious is 3 1 to him.
Jack TKs Bane to M13
Banes Outwits Onslaught's SS, Charges to J12, Flurries. First attack on Onslaught. Maybe. SC is 1. AV10 on DV17. Gets 5. Second attack is 7. 3 to Onslaught.
"Come in for the big guy and ignore the rest of us. You're all brawn and no brains, Bane," Psylocke says stunning the villain with a strike from her psychic blade.
Last dip into the 90s pool before I move on. Comics from the 80s like Dark Knight and Watchmen proved that comics with adult themes can be successful. DC ran with that idea and created the Vertigo line, which was a mix of stand-alone titles and others that still had a connection to the DC Universe at large. One of the latter was Hellblazer, with everyone's favorite foul-mouthed magic-using b@stard. Right now you're not abusing (or even using) PC so the JL52 Constantine would hurt me more than you. I have a little wiggle room with my points so I'll use the JLTW Constantine instead.
He'll sidle out to Q15, Outwit Onslaught's Invulnerable.
Can Rayner attack him? SC is 2. AV9 on DV17. Gest 4. Hawksmoor makes it 7. John makes it 7 and 7 again. Greedy and paid for it.
Grifter on Onslaught, AV10 on DV17. Gets 5.

"That's a lot of power there," Constantine said, glancing at Onslaught, then searching the ground. He found what he was looking for, a rock with one side that was fairly flat. He picked it up and inscribed a rune on it with a felt-tip pen and threw it at Onslaught. "Now would be a good time to shoot at him," he suggested.
Kyle and Grifter took his advice, but Onslaught's defenses held up. The giant laughed.
If you had some PC, I would have used the other Constantine and stolen it from you anyway.
Let's try this again. Constantine Outwits Onslaught's Invulnerable.
Starman this time on Onslaught, AV9 on DV17. Gets 5. Hawksmoor makes it 7. Constantine makes it 6 and 9. It took 8 tries and all my PC to roll a single roll higher than a 7, but I guess it worked ultimately so I can't complain. Onslaught is KOd. Yeah, not impressed with him much.
Let's see if I can manage another 8. Stargirl TS to T11. Gets another 9, so that's a yes. 3 to Kang.
