No. You're not a fraidy cat. He's just ensured none of us in the Town are targeting him and unless the Mafia drafted the right roles he might be safe from them as well. By saying he's doing it for the Town, he's literally just written up his campaign speech for End of Game Invulnerability (and a brilliant move if he's Mafia as none of us are going to risk investigating that claim).
Unless the town still has a role blocker. But that would mean some town coordination, (blocker announces he'll target gfish, town still has an info gatherer to also target him, and everyone trusts both) which seems unlikely.
The claiming of the PGO is suspicious, IMO. PGOs should stay quiet until after they catch one. However... If he is a PGO, he is most assuredly town as a mafia one would not have said anything at all...
The point was not "so you guys should leave me alone", the point was actually to get you all to vote me out.
If I said nothing, I would have been investigated, leading to town death.
If I said I was a PGO (which I did, and which I am), I reduce my credibility in the town's eyes and I will be a convenient waste of the phase later on in the game.
Hence, the best approach currently is to lynch me.
I would also be open to lynching Rokk, of course, who I mentioned in my original post as a person I would guess as being mafia.

And all of this was predicated by votes on me and enough drummed up suspicion as to ensure that I was going to get investigated tonight. So, instead of letting that happen, I claimed.
And I'm all caught up.

Unless the Mafia *does* have a PGO on their team, and gfish-as-mafia grabbed it - it's just not him. That way he doesn't get investigated all game, and the other Mafia/PGO has Night proteciton as well. Throw in a Don with a Cloak (likely), that would be 60% of the Mafia not having to fear the night investigation.
I'm liking gfish as Lynch more and more.
"Why would the possibility of me being wrong ever stop me from doing something?"

I don't think the set-up had the mafia don grabbing powers, just grabbing people (and getting the random power assigned to them).

I love the "Please. Lynch me for your good. Unless you want to lynch Rokk, in which case forget this martyr stuff."
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

That's not what I meant.
Don recruits +4 Powers. #1 is the PGO. #2 can claim PGO, then, knowing that the power would no be countered. And if the PGO actually was targeted? Gravy.

I actually am feeling townie on gfish. His play is at least fairly consistent with MSU's vanilla game.
Vote colonialbob , because I think he's a great mafia sleeper pick. He's one of the newest players in this game, yet he has great instincts and generally sound logic, and I think most of the players have recognized that. But because he's newer, he's less likely to be meta-targeted early on for night attention.
This makes a certain amount of sense actually.
And am I the only one who would use random.org to recruit a mafia for these circumstances? It seems like a no-brainer to me. It throws out any personal biases and if-then conditions. Basically, it nukes the meta in a big way. It's not like Gira would know as the mod. Just visit the site and use assigned numbers. Then submit the list to Gira. Let him overanalyze why you picked who you picked while you just smile.
I am willing to lynch gfish and call his bluff. Vanilla-ish game in the respect that there are no characters so it's all hearsay about powers and alignments right? Right now he's guaranteed that no info gatherer goes for him and he's hoping the mafia doesn't have a block+kill. However, why not risk it for a night? There's no guarantee that anyone goes after him one way or the other. Everyone has their own suspicions at this point.
Say he truly is town. Ok, that's 10-11 other townies and 4-5 scummers. Scummers may mess, they may not. Townies may mess, they may not. He's acting like he's public enemy #1 despite a good number of folks defending him. In addition, the obvious investigative/Vig target is not the smart one to go for because if he is scum, he'll have protection. Better to investigate a different choice all together for more trustworthy results.
He knows better and should have waited to at least try to catch some scummer by chance. Personally, I think he knows he'll be investigated and the mafia doesn't have any protection powers by way of a push/busdrive/JK, so he's tried a gambit. Ergo, I think he's bluffing and should be lynched. Also have a hard time seeing a jester in an experimental game like this.
vote:gfish
And if he is telling the truth, we've lost a player that very same player thought was worth losing. Bottom line, I don't think he's a jester, so I'll lynch him.
I love the "Please. Lynch me for your good. Unless you want to lynch Rokk, in which case forget this martyr stuff."
I'm always up for lynching you!

Ah, I did misread that. And yes, that would be an amazingly good strategy.
From your posts now, but earlier from meta. I could easily be wrong of course, because it is day 1. I think you are buddying with me slightly, knowing that I am going to flip town.
But I would not push for a lynch on it. I think you would make a good N1 investigation target.
