Then A. Carlos is telling the truth and IR gets lynched and town wins.
B. Carlos is lying, IR gets gets lynched and town loses.

There is no foolproof solution.

This is a referendum on if we believe Carlos/ IR/ Silver.
One thing of note is that no one claimed troublemaker, which would suggest that Silver is more likely telling the truth.
On the other hand Carlos didn't claim troublemaker, which would have probably lead to an easy win if he and JOH were WWs together, so this makes Carlos' claim more likely true.

My one hold up is how unfriendly Silver is or seems to be to the idea of lynching IR.

Why would the Tanner ever claim to be the Tanner?

We obviously can't trust that IR outed his real partner because you could be his real partner.

You keep reasoning out that I'm scum and you and IR are town by starting with the assumption that I am scum and you and IR are town.

Carlos didn't claim troublemaker cause he had to take his chances with a role that wasn't claimed and no one could dispute. The last town role left was insomniac so he had to choose that.

If Silver is town, JOH is by default scum. And everyone is going to start by claiming that they are town.

Another thing holding me back: While KJ's claim presents a real dilemma, it never can end with KJ getting lynched. I feel like if he were a tanner, he might go for something a little more explosive.

Put yourself in my shoes. You know you're the TM. You know you swapped a guy who claimed wolf: a move so bad it's gotta be true. So of course I'm not voting for IR.

Vote with JoH if you want, makes no difference to me. I'll take my chances with KJ, cause since I know IR and I are town I only need one other townie to win. This is how you know I am town. I don't care who votes with us as long as just one other townie votes with us.

And even if KJ is the tanner I would hope that this show of faith on my part towards him is enough to get him to vote with me. To do otherwise would just be to give me and IRva big middle finger and KJ doesn't strike me as that type of vindictive guy.

To claim Troublemaker targeting IR.

Now, once he has claimed Troublemaker, what is his best strategy?

To lie and say his claimed target was the only possible choice.

To continually propose plans that he says will always lead to a town win but they will actually lead to a town loss.

To try to get us to trust the Tanner to vote against his best interest and propose that a real Tanner would claim Tanner, which the town should not do and would actually never happen.

He's doing everything he can to get me lynched at the expense of the truth. He's following the very best wolf strategy.

JoH, I've never even played this game before. This Machiavellian series of optimal plays youre suggesting I made is absolutely ridiculous. Never in your life have you ever given me that much credit in a Mafia game, and rightly so cause I wouldn't deserve it. That is the sure shot reason why you're the wolf.
