Hmmm...when I saw it I had not heard of any hype, and I really enjoyed it. I think it's a really good movie, but not some kind of all-time great.

This same phenomenon has me nervous about seeing Skull Island. Everyone that I know that has seen it is telling me how great it is.

Speaking of movies, over the weekend the wife and I watched Thor: The Dark World and Deadpool.

When Thor: TDW was released, it was the best Star Wars movie out!

I loved all 20 minutes of screen time we got of Christopher Eccleston as our primary villain.

Skull Island was a reasonable addition to the giant monster genre.

and stay through the credits for a teaser for the next giant monster movie they have planned ...


I give it a solid 5 or 6 out of 10.

Beauty and the Beast a solid 4 or 5.

A few people I know had really raved about how great it was. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it, either.

I think the only recent movie that DID live up to the hype for me was Rogue One.

I agree, Rogue One was better than I expected.

Wasn't blown away by Rogue One. Felt it was rushed and I had made no real connection with the characters.

I concur on the Rogue One hype vs deliverance ratio.
