Yesterday I covered the comic shop, and for the 927th time, someone called and said "hey, do you guys buy comics, 'cuz I have all these old ones that are probably worth a lot but I don't know how to find the price...blah blah blah"
For the 1st time ever, I was dumbfounded. This incredibly annoying and erratic (but strangely kinda hot) older lady had 2 totes full of '60s and '70s Marvel and a little DC and Dell/Goldkey/Charlton stuff. Defenders 1-10, Marvel Spotlight 5-11 (Ghost Rider), several Hulk, Avengers, FF stuff that was in the #40-#200 ranges, the first "Beware the Claws of the Cat", some Journey Into Suspense and Journey Into Mystery, etc. Nothing that was super key issues, but they were all in pretty good shape! There were several comics in the $50-$200 range.
She was super scattered, like perhaps a meth head, and I was hoping to buy them for myself at a cheap price, but alas...'twas not to be.
Any songs that they played that you were surprised about?
No surprises. I saw them last year, and this is was essentially the same show. Still fantastic.
Last year's show:
If Eternity Should Fail
Speed of Light
Children of the Damned
Tears of a Clown (not played this time)
The Red and the Black
The Trooper
Powerslave
Death or Glory
The Book of Souls
Hallowed Be Thy Name (not played this time)
Fear of the Dark
Iron Maiden
Encore:
The Number of the Beast
Blood Brothers
Wasted Years

She was at least smart enough to not take my offer. I'd told her she could get much more money by selling these individually or taking the time to look them each up. She would say "I just want to get rid of these comics" one second, then next sentence would be something like "yeah, I should look up each on of these on eBay and sell them that way". After an hour of her saying this stuff over and over, and being all tweaked out, I didn't really care anymore!
She could likely get $500 for her stuff, and I only offered $150 or $175.
No surprises. I saw them last year, and this is was essentially the same show. Still fantastic.

I thought so. I really like the new album, so I was happy with the songs they played from it (especially The Red and the Black, and The Great Unknown).
