I'll claim the possessed. I have to go right now but will make an army when I come back. Oh yeah, and im not sure, what is the rule on domains and relics? Can we use any we like, cuz I don't see any in the pool.
Hey Tset, you get to use one relic, if you want. Domains are a no no.
Man, thought I had this in the bag... now that you're in the race, I'm a bit scared. ;) I'm really amazed at some of the figures still left in that pool. Some very good pieces for people to base an army around.
As Borg said, there are some awesome armies - I have to say this could be the best challenge yet. I'm certainly having a hard time picking only 3. :p
The idea is a Heavy Hitting summon/KymaBoom army. Kyma is heavily protected in this army, as Wandering Mochooch, Possessed Draconum and a ***War Hatchetkrugg protecting it once it gets blasted by the DZ. I'll probably wait till turn three to set Kyma off, that way I'll have a greater chance of getting more of my enemies figures without overextending myself, as one of the main faults with people playing KymaBoom is they rush to much ahead and let Kyma get captured.
Once the boom is set off, all my disposable MS will start laying in. The DZ and *Skeleton will stay by the Crusader Priest for a light point defence. Also, if a MS is weakened but not killed, I'll DT it back to my Detonating Zombie, and shockwave it to death (4 damage shouldn't take all that long) then revive it at full strength.
Vs: Rava
I'll likely have to sacrifice some damage on my WHK and Mochooch (possessed isn't MS, can't be revived) to set of the boom, hopefully taking some life of rava. From there, it becomes a slugging match as we try to pound each other to dust.
Vs: BoL
Well, I basically have to charge with all my forces (leaving behind the Priest in a defendable position) and hope that he doesn't target the Priest (which he will, if he has any brains). Defintately my worst matchup, but If I can get into melee without taking much damage, who knows. Oh yeah, I have KymaBoom, if he targets that, I can distract him with it for a possible turn 4-5 boom in his forces, once that happens, my Crusader Priest should be safe as the BoL's attacker will have low attack, as well as other things to worry about.
Vs: Another KymaBoom
I'll have to DT my MS mounts in order to tie the Kyma up, and try and set of my own on his forces. In this, its basically who gets it off first, but the thing is, I can revive a good portion of my forces and IMO that gives me a definate edge.
Vs: Fast Hitting Mounts
Try to get off the Boom on as many of the big figures as I can, If I can get a good percentage, the mop-up should be fairly easy, barring absolutely horrible rolls on my part.
Vs: Another Summon army
Get the boom off on the summon figure, since there is only one/two in the pool (Nim and the ***Crusader Priest) I should be able to get the figure easy. Unless they put two in, in which case I've basically won because they are spending WAAAY to many points on one tactic.
Vs: Nim with BoL
I kinda like this type of army, but I kinda don't, yaknow? Its tactically superior (gives many more options) but it seems like their spending way to many points on a not that powerfull combination. Focus my efforts on Nim, and once he falls, the army really dies.
Vs: Bonestaff
I'll have to bunch up my crusader Priest with all my figures and hopefully not leave them any room with witch to attack. Because of the limited number of skeletons in the pool and the complete lack of shyft, they will not be as powerful as they could be and will be very action deficient. Once a few skeletons come at me, the rest should be as simple as setting of the boom (while making sure he doesn't set it off for me).
The time has come to make a decision.
ONLY THESE 37 PEOPLE who posted an army earned the RIGHT TO VOTE.
Ask yourself this question : if these armies were pitted against each other, which THREE armies would win the most games ?
What you have to do is :
- select the three best armies of your choice
- you are not allowed to vote for your own army
- mail your result to [email protected]
I'll keep track of the voting and will release the results as soon as possible and no later than friday.
It's a straight line to the finish now, guys
success and ........... have fun with it ;)
adidasdarkpo
you used a figure which is not part of the Figure Pool ... Marrowdrinker.
That makes your army illegal for this challenge.
I'm very sorry, but there is no way around this.
btw, does that figure exist ?
I couldn't find it in the figure database.
Better luck next time
and try to read the rules, OK ;)
Before the results are out, I just want to congratulate those who submitted as there were some really good armise out here, and choosing 3 was really really hard... good job guys :)
Perhaps, we should stop and rebuild our Armies for the new format now that majority of units are no longer going to be tournament legal with the release of Dark riders. Look at how many figures will disappear from our list.
I agree with Olan. It is VERY difficult to choose just three armies from the list. :( In fact, my first pass through the list has the field narrowed down to 16 armies! My 2nd pass is not going to drop the count to 3, but maybe 8 or something. I am not taking this too seriously I hope. :p
Borg:
How will you post the results? (Only the top three, everybody, top ten..........?????????) Will there be a breakdown of votes like we see in college sports? Army "X"
received this many 1st, 2nd and 3rd, while army "S" received so and so votes? Thanks in advance for the info.
