Actually, the number will probably be less than .33 times better, although an unknown amount.
Remember, I specified that there are probably more lifestyles that I'm not thinking of. That would imply that, if we hold true your condition that you have one more lifestyle than me, then you will have a 1/nth better lifestyle than me, where n is the total number of lifestyles I have procured.
I cant beleive this thread is still going on. I have been reading it on and off and I never thought it would last this long. Here are a few quick points:
1. Since the dawn of civilization man has tried to answer the questions of what is happiness? Why are we here? etc. The greatest minds of our history have grappled with this question and there is no definitive answer, if there was the solution probably would not appear in a vsrealms board.
2. Life is tough, I'm sure we have all had our fair share of hard knocks, and we all know life can be a b---- sometimes. We as individuals have to do our best to get by with the hand we our dealt(no pun intended) and find happiness in our lives as well as bring happiness to other people around us, whether they be total strangers or our loved ones. VS is a way we can be happy, it is a fun escape if weve had a bad day and a way to get together with our friends and just laugh all night because even with 40 characters and 4 tutors somehow my friend will always miss drops in his bhood reservist build.
3. In short--yes we should be gaming, it is a fun way to pass the time and a way to meet interesting new people. There are many postivies to playing this game and I'm sure everyone on these boards has their own reason for playing but whatever it is, this game brings joy to us and does not hurt anybody in the process...that is reason enough for me to play this game.

btw, why did you choose the green goblin as your avatar, oh bringer of good/happy/righteous/morally teletubby-ish lifestyle? :ermm:
He was planning on killing your Gwen Stacy and he thought it the most appropriate route.
And have you seen the thread about the Price of Fame, where people brag about how well they make fun of others and/or say that people shouldn't make fun of others? I think it's been described as, "where everybody knows your name" or something. It is DEFINITELY geekier than this thread.
Oh, and, Ryu, you can always expect me and Stu to carry something on long after it maybe should've been dropped. I'm just surpried Orumceck didn't decide I was full of crap and leave yet. ;) As for your points...
1. I disagree. The question of life may very well appear in a scrabble game (What is six times nine?), and the definition of happiness may live in the cards. Or maybe these cards epitomize evil, and we only need to unlock the secret as to how. Many people find morals and/or stories in many weird places. Some people think that "Poker is like life, because..." or "A man is defined by the friends he shares" or "A man is defined by the music he listens to", and for all we know, there's an equal chance they're right, and there's an equal chance that we're right. (Okay, maybe a little less than equal for the music guy. Damn John Cusack.)
2. I think you mean VS is pleasurable, according to Orumceck. Then again, who says they're not the same thing? Some dead guy? #### him.

You haven't been around here very long. This is about the only place it would appear. And with this thread hitting ten pages, it should be coming up pretty soon.
Yeah, Green Goblin is a pretty bad guy. Spider-Man would be better.
It's certainly true that gamers are more interested in gaming then learning about the events I mentioned earlier. Americans in general prefer entertainment to learning.

Isn't this a problem?
1) Yes, America is very 'entertainment oriented', but not all of us just entertain ourselves to death without learning, teaching, caring, and engaging in other productive endeavors.
2) There is a section of this website entitled 'Another Realm' which is specifically made to talk about anything you please - from Magic Unicorns to Magic Mushrooms. You could very easily create a thread that cuts through the crap and starts discussing the issues you truly want to discuss.
3) Don't listen to ANYTHING Stubarnes says. He is very trixie and is not to be trusted. Beware when he signs something 'Love, Stu'. That is akin to the kiss of death! :noid:

Yes, it is. I am an American educator, and I am in the belly of the beast. I try to instill a love of learning, but it is getting more difficult every day.
Personally, I am most entertained while I am learning. And the best part? I am learing from every moment. And every moment is entertaining. I choose my moments as carefully as I can, and I focus my attention on the things that make me happiest. The rest of the discussion really doesn't matter to me.

Sorry for the long response time, was away on break.
I don't think entertainment and learning are exclusive. People learn from their experiences, whether these experiences are reading The Bible, playing soccer, winning (or, worse, losing) at VS, or listening to rap music. (For the record, this is not a comprehensive list. There are probably 2 or 3 things I didn't put on this list that are other experiences one could have and learn from, I just don't know what they are. Maybe that's something I should learn.)
If you look for knowledge, you will find it in every facet of everything in life. If you don't want to learn, and would rather ignore the myriad of truths you're lucky enough to glean, then that's a personal problem, not a national one.
That aside, I do think a lot of people have this problem. I do not, and I believe too heavily in the rights of others to think that we should try and force people to want to learn.
After all, it may not be a problem, we may all just be misinformed. You should keep learning until you know for sure.
We did an extensive scientific experiment this weekend to prove this once and for all. It is now fact. Yes, we should be gaming. It does cause true happiness. It does help our fellow man:
