What UDE NEEDS TO DO!!!!! Is to create starter decks with each set like Magic does. I have said this 1000 times before but no one listens. With those starter decks it's very easy for some kid off the street to walk in a store and start playing VS. NOW to keep the casual player you need to have separate events that target new players. Call it the rookie event or sidekick event whatever. That event is open to ALL newcomers to the game and you can only use a starter deck. And don't make the starter decks too generic like the ones in the past. Have some mechanics in it so it will be an easier transition for new players.
Have some prize structure that will keep the new guys playing but wont attract the pros like sharks to blood. This way when the new player feels ready to crossover to regular matches he does it at his own pace. Not walk into an event that is supposed to be casual but has the golden ring as a prize. Of course people will take good decks to win. There needs to be separation for this to work.
That being said UDE needs to bring back PCQ's. At the PCQ you can run both of those events at the same time. This way the pros and old players will have their tourney and wont bottom feed on the new comer tourney.
That would WORK!!!!!!! If UDE wants to contact I have other ideas that WILL WORK!! I'll tell you right now that will feed the need of both new and old players and will build a stronger foundation of the game. That will bring old players back too!
So nobody quit let's flip a team-up from our resource row and kick this game in the @$$ and make it better. But UDE HAS TO HELP US AND LISTEN TO US!!!!!!
Thought about something else.
It is common here to attack someone for his opinion. But I donīt understand most of the people that say the game wonīt die, all we have to do is get new players. Never mind to keep players at the table. We need new players but please you have to go.
Gnah. I hope here is some wrong spelling. Otherwise it would be boring not?

Actually, what we need to do is get new players while keeping as many of the current players as we can. That is what is causing such a quandry. It can be done, it's just a matter of how.

I would have sworn I just read a RP tourney report that shows aceswolf playing Checkmate/LOA... Merlyn Abuse.
Is that not essentially Deep Green minus rares?
Is that not just a slight bit hypocritical of him to be going off about someone else bringing some broken jank when he's bringing a PC winning deck?
Am I missing something here?
Yes. He did not won? Or did he? Obviously Merlyn abuse is not as good as the deck that beat him. So his deck is not that broken at all. And because Deep Green won something sometimes doesnīt mean it is broken. He has gone so why you still care?
This is a poor try to expose him.

Sorry there Benni, but he has "exposed" himself. He had not mentioned (at least in the threads I read) that he was playing Deep Green. He railed against this other player for running a "pro" deck when he was doing essentially the same thing himself.
If he's gone, that's certainly sad for the folks in the NE area... although I'm sure that the gaming community is stronger than one individual. Hopefully someone else will step up and fill the void.
EDIT: Just because he didn't win the tourney with the deck doesn't mean it's not a "good" deck. I've seen a lot of people show up with QuickFate completely netdecked from Kyle's list and lose all day long with it. That doesn't stop folks from crying about how "broken" Quicksilver is, though and how that deck is "bad" for the game.

He is just gone from the forums. He will keep on playing. There is another thread here where he explained it. Still how he goes is just sad.
I thought that's what Mobilized was for... to help the mono-teams that got served by EOME.
I'll say this to the protests of many... but I have come to the opinion that search/tutor is bad for TCGs.
Tutors are NOT bad for a game ... the availability of the good tutors IS bad for a game. As much as i would like to, i could never be successful in a competetive environment because i cannot get ahold of these cards which will increase the accuracy/consistancy of the decks i make.
THAT is why i am thrilled about the increased number of EoME's being available. Supply and demand, more supply lower price = me happy :)

I agree, its really annoying when you post a deck and the response is:-
"Yeah just stick in a playset of enemy of my enemy"
I dont have a one never mind a playset,
Its not that Im ungrateful for the suggestions, but if you want me to play a playset of a card like enemy, you are going to have to ptrovide it for me
No... I realize how important tutors are to the consistency of a deck... however in the case of the VS engine... there so many tutors that decks lose homogeny and render the team aspect ineffective.
They also take up too much time from games causing this NPE that people are commenting about.
The other problem with tutors is that it reduces the "lucksack factor" which seems to be a needed mechanic for TCGs to be more widespread among casual players. Mana-screw turns out to be an equalizer for Magic and topdecking in YGO is the name of the game... Heart of the Cards and all that jazz.
But I'm merely waxing philosophically... it's just an opinion I thought I would share.

I think this point has been made about a bajillion times, but EOME is so much better than Mobilize. Mobilize forces you to stay on team. EOME allows you to go way off team and choose characters that have abilities that are tailor made for any specific situation. Since no mono team ever has all the answers, Mobilize can never give you the tech drop that you need. EOME can.
And aces, if you're still reading this, I personally don't like you based on your internet postings, but a lot of people vouch for you, and you're clearly doing hard work in promoting the game. That's more than most of us on these forums can say. So please, try to keep up the good work, and don't let this get you down. Setbacks suck, but it was a major setback to the game that made you realize you wanted to do your most to bring Vs. back.
NPE means Negative Play Experience. It's generally used in reference to a deck that's no fun to play against (as in it generates a play experience that is negative, as opposed to positive, which I suppose should be the aim of a CCG designer)
