The comic is a very straight-forwardly simple b&w ink draw style that I think would fit with your love of manga art. The story itself is obviously well received but, honestly, I think the movie maybe serves it better as there’s so much energy that reflects better on screen versus feeling constrained on the page.

Night 1: Vegan Police vs. the World

Scott Pilgrim has just been defeated. Everyone at the Rockit stares in shock at the handful of change and floating cartoon head that had materialized where everyone’s favorite 22-year-old unemployed Canadian protagonist had once stood.

Denial quickly gave way to anger as it seemed everyone in the dilapidated venue moved simultaneously toward the stage. A collision seemed inevitable but just before contact, some sort of force field intervened.

Unexpectedly, two figures in sunglasses burst through the wall behind the stage like the Kool-Aid man, with green lasers emanating from their fingers.


“Freeze! Vegan Police!”

Everyone was stunned. The two men removed their sunglasses and pointed at a man on stage.

"No Vegan Diet, No Vegan Powers!"

The man responded, “I’m not vegan, bucko.”

The two men replaced their sunglasses.
“Nice try. Deveganizing ray. Hit him!” The lasers on their fingers spread into a wider green light shining on their target.

ZUM ZUM ZUM ZUM ZUM ZUM ZUM ZUM ZUM ZUM ZUM ZUM ZUM ZUM ZUM ZUM


The ray did not have the intended impact, as the Vegan Police had mistook this man for their intended quarry. To be fair, they were pretty close.

As they blew the smoke off their finger rays, they didn’t see the blonde figure approach from behind. A large boot was lifted skyward and was brought down with such force that one swing caused both men to burst into a shower of coins. Two separate numbers hung in the air, each counting upwards to 3000. There would be no awesome buddy cop action movie high fives tonight.

RenegadeRoy has been defeated! He was the Vegan Police (Neutral), an uncredited performance by Thomas Jane and Clifton Collins Jr.
Day 2 starts now! Nightfall will occur at 11:59 EDT. Game on!
