I'm looking for answers. Call me crazy, "CRAZY", but I wanted a Galactus. From the responses on here and the listings on eBay, it looks like other people did too. What I would like to know is, how can I get one? Do I HAVE to pay $300 or more on eBay, or can I expect to get one at another convention as long as I try pretty hard and am willing to spend the $75 to get one.
It is not the biggest problem in my life, but it is a problem for which I would like a solution. Apologies help, but they ain't solutions.

ThePope, there is a pretty big difference between a mail-away and a con exclusive. You are sending money with an envelope to a company to have your figure sent to you. In reality I've never heard of anyone not getting a sendaway fig, but I have heard people say they didn't get a con only fig. Just because you go to a con doesn't mean you get one.
Maybe the mail-away isn't the best analogy, but at least you know where you stand with a mail-away offer. We had no idea where we stood until we got in line this weekend and were told, "Sorry, pal. You ain't getting what you came here for."

I think emailing the company or posting on the wizkids forumns would give you answers faster. Wizkids has a lot of things to deal with because what has gone on and they cannot just toss statements out without figuring out first what they are going to do about it. They said what they wanted to say and now there should be nothing left to talk about.
Ya and a con only fig means that if you want to have your best chances of getting one then you better go to a con but it doesn't say anywhere that you'll for sure will get one. It would be awsome if you went to a con and that ment you got what they said would be there, but it isn't. I just figured that now that people have stated what they wanted to that they could move on.

I'm certainly NOT joking. You people are blowing this SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO far out of proportion, it rather pathetic now. I stand 100% behind what I said.

I dont think any reasonable person thought they could just "waltz in" and get a Galactus. I do think getting up at 6am (4 hours early) to wait in line on Saturday would have given you a reasonable chance at getting Galactus.
Why? Have you been to a con before? I haven't, yet from here in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I could have told you that getting into line at 6:00 AM was not any type of guarantee. Some people can run faster than you can.

Well, normally it would have if it werent for the dealers and cutters who got in line early. I hold Wizkids accountable for not being able to secure this.
Once again, why? It wasn't their convention to run. They are not responsible for making sure no one cuts in line. They ARE responsible for selling to a handful of dealers though, and that is a long-standing policy of theirs. You were still afforded an opportunity to get yours, but you didn't. Too bad. There was still a lot more to do at the con. Too bad you didn't look into those things.

Yes we made a decision based on information given to us by Wizkids. So when that information is wrong who should we hold accountable? Ourselves? Look, Wizkids may have made a mistake in planning based on the information given to them by Wizard World. They should hold Wizard World accountable for that, no question.
So should you then. Their supplies were based on Wizard's information, so if there is anyone to be angry with, go to their forums and lodge your complaints there.

Those of you who were not there dont quite understand the frustration.
Back that truck up right there, buddy... Why in the world would you think I have never been frustrated by something? I want lots of things and I am very frustrated that my financial situation is such that I cannot buy a house. Does that mean I should go to the builders down the street from my rent house or to the bankers and demand they give me a house because I was on this block before they started building and their ads said I could get a house "With Approved Credit"? Sheesh... "I don't understand the frustration." All I know right now is, all you people are very frustrating to us, so I think I DO understand your frustration.

Yes, Galactus limited (much more than we all thought). The fact that WK made things worse with the poor handling of the situation is what I'm most upset about. Everything was a mess. On Friday when they started letting people in at 5 pm there was a MAD rush to the booth. The line was easily hunderds of people long in a matter of minutes. I heard people started lining up for preview night at 11am. Granted, not all were there for Galactus. A grand total of 50 Galactus were sold on Friday night (at least 15 to dealers, probably more). So WK knew that hundreds of people who wanted Galactus would have to wait till Saturday. They should have planned for lots more than that. Saturday rolls around and its even crazier than Friday. There were over 100 people already in line at the WK booth just as they opened the doors to the public on Saturday. How da heck did that happen? Again, I hold Wizkids accountable for that. This is where they failed to do their best in making sure everything was "fair." It most certainly was not. Again, hopefully they've learned from this and we will not see these problems again. Based on Wizkid's past actions, I'm not holding my breath.
I have heard people suggest WizKids should have brought 2000 Galacti to the convention (20% of the expected 10000 attendance, which was wrong btw). A single skid holds 80 or so Galactus figures in their box, from what I was told, so 2000 means over two TRUCKLOADS of skids. There is no way ANY company would bring that many figures to a convention. The storage costs alone would be astronomical. Plus, there is the Teamsters Union they would have to deal with.
You guys flame me all you want, but you really need to get a life and stop complaining about this. And to ThePope and Greenandgold, I'm sorry if the toy was your SOLE reason for going to a convention. That truly WAS bad planning on your parts then. There is WAY too much to do in LA, let alone the convention, to go there for one single thing you realistically should have known you had very little chance of obtaining. Any expectation other than "you have a chance to get one" is solely your faults. If you feel the need to blame anyone, blame yourselves for placing your expectations higher than they should have been.
In my day, we didn't have Heroclix. If you were being attacked by Superman with a 3d dumpster, you just had to hope you could outrun him.
Sounds to me like the best answer for everyone that wants a Galactus.....skip the cons, stash your cash, and duke it out on EBay. Sure, you're going to pay more for it, but at least you're not having to shell out for travel expenses, ticket prices, etc.
I was planning on attending WWE and WW Chicago...since I live in Michigan, both are quite a distance from my house, so now I think I'll just pass on going to both of them....let the bidding begin!!
"Oh, you didn't know??.....your a** better call somebody!!!!"

So Funky, about your "people running faster than you" comment.
Are you saying the only people who should be able to get a Galactus are thi\ose who are better fit, don't care for politness, will push wheelchaired people out of the way, and basicly only the #######s who have no need for rules but thier own?
Well, funny thing is, there is still stuff to talk about. And since this is a place to talk/post about it, I'm going to continue. If you don't like it, don't read what I'm posting. I try not to judge others, I don't know why you're judging us.

This is where we disagree, Jett: I think our expectations were right on given the information at hand.
We were told that the company expected to be able to reasonably meet the demand for the exclusives, and never heard anything to indicate that we should expect anything less.

Cause thats what that sounds like.
I'm just stating a fact. There are people out there that will do that. And they are fellow Clixers and fellow HCRealmers too. Did you walk to the booth? All I am saying is, people made the demand high themselves to nearly a fevered pitch. They HAD to have Galactus, and pretty much at any cost. That sucks, but it's true.
That being said, I'm done with this. I still don't have a Galactus figure either. Oh well, no big deal to me. See how you can let things go?

Not bad planning on my part, bad planning on a company I support. I asked on this board for weeks before the convention (you can check out my posts if you don't believe me). Forget about asking WizKids, they were not helpfuly at all. Anyways, I asked and went with the information that was given. I'm asking that WizKids give more information in the future. I will remember their bad planning. If I don't get the right info before San Diego, I'm not going. However, I don't need you to judge my situation and say that I planned poorly. I hope you don't want me to judge you and your poor financial situation.

Okay so that guy in a wheelchair deserved to not get one cause he couldn't roll fast enough. Gotcha. His fault for being crippled after all and thinking he should have a fair chance at a Galactus.

Duh...He got to park really close to the convention center, what more does he want???
