Does ANYONE (besides WizKids/Marvel) like the Ultimates version of Spidey villains? As a unque - fine, but don't do the sculpts in the Utlimate version and make them cover the regular Marvel Universe. It is a MAJOR disappointment for us collectors...

Umm, this is the 'Ultimates' set, right?
Wouldn't it only, you know, make sense that characters in this set that have appeared in the Ultimate comic lines be the Ultimate version ... ?
If you dislike him so much, either a) don't spend money to get him, or b) mod him to look how you want him to. It's a pretty simple solution either way.
I'm perfectly content with this version. And the only gripe I've got about the sculpt is that the 'electric current' that he's got circling around him doesn't appear to be the clear blue plastic that we've seen on Iceman and Killer Frost ...

I really don't want to see the LE:
"In brightest day, in darkest night, no evil shall escape my sight. For those that worship evil's might, beware my power...Green Lantern's LIGHT!" EVER.
I also gripe about Electro, I wanted a classic Sinister Six, I've been waiting for it since I got in, and expected it to be finished in Critical Mass (I mean c'mon!) I'm not happy at all with this Electro. He looks okay, but he's not my Electro.
Omigosh ... 'Ultimate' Electro in the 'Ultimates' set. Whodathunkit?!

I just wanted to note that I am not griping about having Ultimate Electro - my gripe is when they use an Ultimate sculpt to represent the regular Marvel Universe.
I am primarily a collector (HeroClix and comic books) and what I'm looking for is representations of both, but if there is only going to be one, I want to be from the original Marvel Universe. If we are going to get the REAL Rhino and Electro in future sets, I'll be happy, but until then...

IF Wizkids would have made MY good old original green/gold Electro before Ultimates you wouldn't be hearing me aboot the Ultimates sculpt.
BUT just as with Rhino,Angel, the Frickking GREEN GOBLIN !!!!! and now Electro WK makes the god-awful Ultimates...
It's a good thing I got some people whom remod them for me otherwise I would be twice as pissed off ...
recap..
WK can make Ultimates and I will be fine with it AS LONG AS all the normal figs are being made first !!

News Flash: Angel is not the Ultimates version. He's the New X-Men version.
Just because he doesn't have shiny metal wings from the 1980s doesn't make him Ultimate, it makes him 'current'. He's the one you see each month in the regular X-Men family of titles.
Green Goblin's dial, arguably, doesn't represent either version of the character (ie: where's the Energy Explosion?), but he comes closer to representing the Ultimate character. Thus, the Ultimate figure.
Rhino? Well, there you may have a point. Ultimate Rhino appeared only as a part of a background story in part of maybe 4 pages of Ultimate Spider-Man. Why they chose to use that sculpt instead of the regular version of Rhino is beyond me, except for maybe the Ultimate version looking 'cooler' than the old one.
Regardless, the new set is going to be based upon the Ultimate Universe. People ought to be able to figure that out from the title of the expansion. Why people are complaining that the 'Ultimate' version of the characters are included in a set the is specifically about the Ultimate characters is completely beyond me ...
If you don't want the Ultimate versions, then just don't buy the Ultimates set. It seems simple enough, doesn't it?
Sit back and wait for your regular universe stuff to get made. Eventually, they're going to have to make (or re-make) all of the characters to keep the game alive. Have a little patience. Your day will come. It just won't be this June.

I think the majority opinion here is that Ultimate remakes of retired characters is a great way, if not the only way, to keep favorites in circulation. Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and Magneto come to mind. New combos will sell the old figures, and keep people coming back for more. But to spit out a remake before you get the real deal? Not what the people want, plain and simple.
I agree with the itsy bit that Angel's New X-Men costume was not the way to go. I support Wizkids for putting out a quality product, and I blame Marvel for putting their fingers in it. The Wizkids boys can decide what the players want on their own without having big daddy Marvel looking over their shoulder making changes. We don't see this problem with DC, and they're putting out better sets because of it.

Yes, it just might be because the Ultimate Rhino looks better than Chunky Guy In A Grey Unitard Rhino. Maybe.
But I do agree about Electro. 1: Happy to have him; 2: Normal Universe, in this particular case, would look better.
Frankly, I think it would be a hoot to have an ""In brightest day, in darkest night, no evil shall escape my sight. For those that worship evil's might, beware my power...Green Lantern's LIGHT!" generic GL LE, just to have a name that wraps all the way around the dial+, but I may be in the minority on that one.
I'm sure the only reason they used "Justice is Served!" as the Scourge's name is because there were a bunch of Scourgi, and they were a bunch of nobodies (to the best of my knowledge).

exactely !!

yep, Angel misses something.
BUT It isn't Marvels fault, they provide the license. Marvel DOES NOT have a say in which figures Wizkids are going to make (the Frequent five are NOT made by contract !!) and how to make them (Costume, version).
the blame lies solely with WK.
like you and I said Ultimates is 50% reprint and 50% old figs, so ALL reprinted figs should be Ultimates and all other/new figs shouldn't be.
It's a mystery to me why WK can on the one hand make an Awesome Mysterio and then proceed by insulting us with such an ugly Electro sculpt.
