I wanted so badly to go out yesterday with a bunch of clothes gotten at goodwill and just lay them out on the street as if there had been a person in them just a few moments ago.

So apparently I'm getting passed over for a promotion in favor of someone that I have seniority over and frequently has to ask me for help on how to do things here.
I've just about had it with this crap...

That's how you know you're fully engrained and immersed into the crap that is corporate America! I know that story all too well. Next thing you know is that you'll have to train the person that is going to be your boss. I've had to do that one myself also.

I've been in a similar situation before. Ultimately ended up leaving the business completely because I knew I wasn't going to be able to move up to better things. My current job is fairly dead-end as well but the stress level is way lower so any complaints I have are kept in check.

It's not even a significant pay increase, and it would be more work. But it's the principle of the thing. I'm tired of working somewhere where the only things that matter are if you're related to the boss and/or suck up to her, not seniority or how well you actually do your job.

Happened to me before. She got the job because she was friends with a supervisor there. She always had to ask me how to do things or what to do. She transfered to another place because her mom was friends with the district manager

Oh, yeah. They'll tell you otherwise and have a million "REGULATIONS/RULES" that says otherwise, but nepotism/favoritism is rampant in most workplaces.
