I'm not too thrilled with this Ultimate Scarlet Witch they put out. I was looking for a serious threat. Instead she's a minor upgrade to the Infinity Challenge Scarlet Witch.
Before, those of you who have been following this thread, I said Scarlet Witch didn't have the right clothes for her Ultimate version. I was wrong, in a sense. She DID have the traditional red outfit on the Brotherhood, but changed her outfit when she joined the ultimates (same with QS).
As far as her being a minor upgrade. Well, the IC Sc. Witch was almost too pricey to be worth PC (I never used her) and her experienced and veteran versions were worthless. All versions of her now are worth the price for the team abilities alone, plus PC and PB for most, if not all her dial?? She is way better than her old version, with a slightly better sculpt. I have now gone from being ticked off at the new version (mostly because she doesn't have her Ultimates clothes on) to actually looking forward to getting her.
My first act as mayor will be to kill the lot o' ya and turn this town to cinders!
Moonstar/Mirage is going to be a pretty decent piece once the whole set is revealed. With Forcefield to up her defense to a 17 with toughness from range, she'll be a decently tough nut to crack. If I'm reading the card right, it says the character gains toughness, not that it replaces the defense slot. So put her on hindering she's an 18 at range with toughness all for 100 points. Not great point wise true, but not that bad. She has psychic blast to deal at least 2 (up to 5 with some combination of enhancement or perplex or ICWO) With the running shot, she can soften up the most likely candidates that will base her. Or just hang back and provide cover for the team. With her extended base, she has more than one square from which to shoot out from giving her slightly better options on her dual targets. She's not game breaking but she'll have her uses.
Namor's finally here. I would have thought he'd have a 17 defense at some point, but I can see why they did not give it to him. The team abilities sort of annoy me though. Unless the Avengers is a stand-in for the New Invaders, the abilities of the Experienced should be switched with the Vet. He rejoined the Defenders, (well technically was force to rejoin because of the original curse) after he left the Avengers over 10 years ago. That and he's rejoining the Defenders when the new one comes out this year. His powers are spot on, though he has a damage of 2 for too much of his dial on the Experienced version (5 clicks out of 10, only one of them with super strength). He goes toe-to-toe with the Hulk and has actually won that battle during that time period. He should at least have the ability to break down a wall for more than half his dial (not counting objects). He'd be another ICWO candidate. Man Oracle makes everything better doesn't she.
Doom is kind of eh. After the stellar Clobberin' Time version, I expected a let down. And I got one. Front loaded outwit is nice as is Running shot with Pulsewave. Problem is basing him will just about negate that advantage as long as you outwit his outwit. And put a R Sandman (unrestricted) on him.
Scarlet Witch does look like a winner. 10 range, a click of stealth, PC almost all the way down her dial in her R and all the way down for the Vet. Useful and diversed team abilities throughout the versions. The sculpt isn't accurate, but that's just nitpicking. She'll be a very useful piece in tournaments and fun to play on themes.
They did him how I figured they would, which is not what I wanted but not a huge disappointment either, especially with Avengers being almost a wildcard. IMHO, though, he should have had 3 damage longer with flurry so he could break walls or hurt someone with Invulnerability/Imp. Drat it, ICWO does make everything better!
In Contact With Oracle is the HeroClix condiment, like ketchup, mustard or mayonnaise....maybe relish....

PS- Defenders team of E Hulk, E Dr. STrange, E Namor, V Hellcat, V Hawkman as Nighthawk (JSA is the same) is 398, I think. Sweet!
E Hulk, E Strange, E Subby and U Silver Surfer is 491!

HURRAY! It's Black Knight! Oh wait, it's some new X-Man chick I've never heard of.
If you don't know about Moonstar, you will enjoy reading her stories, for she has one of the busiest histories that contributes to continuity, more than some who have had their own comic!
To re-cover what has allready been said: She has been a New Mutant, X Man, X Force member, A Valkyrie, recieved her horse from Asgard, Worked for Shield underground joining the Mutant Liberation Front, and been a leader and teacher for X teams.
The Black Knight is one of my favorite characters, but Moonstar has him beat in the main events in Marvel history as far as I'm concerned.
As for the sculpt, it looks great and I am soooo looking forward to this set!
it’s kinda sad that the most dominant figures in this game are hookers, medics, and dogs…..

Yeah, I see me using the Vet with the Thunderbolts card and dropping him on a high point Defenders team. Add in ICWO with the team and go to town. I'm hoping more Defenders are going to be in this set. I heard rumors that Strange is in it, but I'll wait and see. Val and Nighthawk would be very nice additions, too.

Maybe, but as someone who used to collect New Mutants, I think she could have been done very well without putting her on the steed..in fact it's not appropriate to have her on the horse for at least one of her 3 versions, if not two. Can't really say this about Black Knight...that character has ALWAYS been on a winged steed (though it hasn't been the SAME winged steed the whole time).
I'm not upset that they made Moonstar...but I *am* a little bit bothered that they made her a transporter (and I'll be even more upset about it if there is only one character on winged steed in the set...). At least there are a lot of other figs in the set that I want (Ultimate FF look good, Namor looks good, Scarlet Witch looks good, and we're FINALLY getting big figs to represent Henry Pym that aren't the wife-abusing Ultimates version...not to mention finally getting the Green Goblin! ).
