Many people are looking at it like you are... You're not paying 35 for Batman. You're paying 35 dollars for 12 issues of a magazine AND Batman.
It amazes me as to how dumb some people tend to act at times. It's still a great deal with or without Batman. I paid 44 bucks for two Batmans and a 1 year sub... My regular sub cost me 47 dollars with my 20% discount... so I'm still saving and I get Batman on top of that. Just some simple number crunching shows you it's not such a bad thing after all.
That only works out if you actually buy those magainzes anyways. For those of us who don't, and don't want to, it's a mandetory $35 for one figure. Plus, you've always had the OPTION of subscribing before, you just hadn't. The figure still cost $7 on top of the regular subscription price.

So what, you give the guy who moves 2x the speed of light a 15 movement and the guy who moves 2x the speed of sound a 13. Does that accurately represent the advantage the first actually has over the other?
The minor advantage provides a tangible edge. 1-2 points extra in enough to give the faster character a freedom of movement that the slower one lacks. Yes, if they were accurately speeded based on, say, Captain America, all Flash characters would have like 4000 MV. Really, it wouldn't be SO bad if the rule was just that Speedforce characters could start from anywhere on the map, move to any point on the map, attack if they wanted to, and then move to any other point on the map.
That would be a realistic depiction of their powers, wouldn't be dreadfully overpowered in a world that has Doubletimed Shake Off Lockjaw in it, and I'd love to see a realistic 200+ point Flash that could do that, but I am resigned to them just being a little faster than everyone else. A few points faster is the least they can do though.
It's about time they came out with some new sculpts of the classic DC characters. Harley Quinn with her classic gun (and backside), Joker as we all know and love him, a truly useful Lex Luthor and Batman as we should truly know and love him. I am hoping that they somehow figure out how to get us at lease six uniques along with the REV's and LE's.
Can't wait until September. Fantastic Forces will be good, but Icons will be truly FANTASTIC!!!
Everything BrotherMagneto said on this indicates this correct. It had nothing to do with the universes in themselves, but WK definitely got lots of feedback on Marvel Universe and improved upon the idea for DC Icons.
Third Place Winner, Boneyards Contest. Huzzzah!
Finallly, Guy Gardner has Arrived in the world of Heroclix! Galactus, Fin Fan Foom, and Spectre beware!

Here's the thing with me and Flash having 20-ish movement. Is that REALLY such a bad thing in the current gaming environement? Here are some reasons why not:
1. Mobility. Wally West Flash wouldn't have Flight, L/C, or the Ultimate TA (like Quicksilver likely will). This means that he is vulnerable to Hindering Terrain. This means that on an average battle field, he'll have to do a lot more juking around than characters like KC Flash, Jesse Quick, Northstar, Black Adam, and probably a new V Quicksilver in order to get the job done. A few extra clicks of movement will ensure that when it comes to getting from point A to point B, the Fastest Man Alive is not lagging behind any of those guys.
2. Range. Flash has none. There are numerous characters in the game with longer effective range than a 15 movement Flash, simply by virtue of their ranged attacks. OWAW Superman, for example, has a 19 effective range (HSS plus range, capable of dealing THREE damage), Amazo has 20 (Capable of attacking TWO targets for up to 3 damage), Ditto for Count Neferia (only splitting FOUR damage instead of three), 17 for U Silver Surfer (two attacks, 3 damage), 17 for Gladiator (1 attack, 4 damage), and of course KC Supes tops out at 22 total range (dealing 5 damage at that range).
Considering that Flash will likely max out at two damage, and only against one target, is a 20 or near 20 MV really that bad? Sure, he doesn't have to take the last 10 spaces in a straight line, and he doesn't have to end his turn within ten spaces and line of sight of the enemy, which some of those characters would need to, but is that really too huge of a difference? I think that anywhere any other character can shoot, Flash should be able to be there. He wouldn't do nearly as much damage, and wouldn't have the Impervious that most of those characters have, but he should balance with them for effective range.
3. Transporters. With Transporters added to the game, we've got figures like Lockjaw that can move up to 28 spaces in one turn, through walls, carrying another character, and capable of dealing damage just by running away their next turn, for only 52 points. Flash can do this as well (aside from the carrying), but without the moving through walls or carrying part, and he'd take damage at the end of the move, and couldn't deal the Shake Off damage. A little "run in and punch" for a high cost figure isn't so bad, is it?
Wally West
Rookie Flash is considerably weaker than the others. This depicts the first third of his career, in which he had a psychological block that prevented him from reaching his potential, and was not connceted to the Speed Force, so he maxed out at around mach 1 and could not do anything tricky with the Speed Force. The E and V forms represent later phases in his career, when he was in touch with the Speed Force, and much faster than anyone else. The late dial regen represents his ability to speed up his own healing proccess to get back into the fight, the front loaded Perplex represents his ability to lend and steal speed, and the late dial Super Strength represents his ability to lend speed to objects, carry them within his draft, and slam them into targets (makes sense, huh?)
He'd get fairly expensive, but as a DCU headliner, he fully deserves to be expensive, and I think he's still highlight playable as an expensive piece.
