HCR is joining the side that says "We are the administrators of this site and will decide what is front-page worthy!" Period.
Slight correction..
A contributor thought this was front page worthy since it was a well written article that was bound to stir discussion.
I do not speak for all of HCR and only seek to engage the people with interest in playing in a more noticeable way for whomever picks the game up.
Also.. to further quell the problems and show HCR neutrality I have offered to post an article with a well written counter point also for discussion.. Still waiting on that one..

I beg to disagree with your first statement (Exhibit A) by juxtaposing it with your later comment (Exhibit B)

Exhibit C:

Either join the discussion in earnest regarding the question put forth by thele or else go read something else. Or, maybe start a new thread questioning HCR's policies and let people decide whether they want to read it or not.
I find it disturbing to wade through the posts in this thread trying to find the ones that actually relate to the original question. I am into this discussion and it is being sabotaged!
LOL
Fantastic way to OWN another HCR member. I'll bet darius_dax1 thinks twice before he starts trying to act like he knows whats going on (at least i hope he thinks twice... assuming he thought once)
From my own POV, WC flip-flopping is certainly not fairly costed, but that isn't my biggest concern (since there are many other elements that aren't fairly costed either). I'm more bothered by unecessary rules complications by WC flip-flopping, and almost all of those are cause by changes while on defense.
Yep, agreed. There seems to be no reason to add complication to the Wildcard TA rules, and IMO if you're adding complication, it should be for a good reason. KISS violations are fine, as long as they are justified. With Wildcards, I don't think it's a justifiable violation. Which is why I'm a big proponent of having WC rules streamlined. If you're gaining rules simplification AND game balance, there seems no reason NOT to make the change. It's not as if there's no precedent for changing TA rules.

Yeah, I know I'm sometimes guilty of slow play. Not that I'm normally a big defensive player (and I hate turtle strategies), but I normally play friendly games at home. We play without a time limit, last-man-standing. There's no benefit to stalling, but no benefit to playing ultra-fast either (also no benefit to running away for points-denial ). Sometimes it's a struggle to transition to competitive, time-keeping games.
CarlosMucha: that is like be running in a Olimpic race competition just one step to get the gold and then a Giant children place a mirror in your side and you discover what you are really a hamster over a whell and the gold is just a slice of chess. Avatar Summoning: Original GotG, Melter, Whiplash

Owning people is slavery and it's wrong...you should be ashamed.
...and it's great to see that your post contributed so much to the discussion...I wonder if you too will be chastised by the people that want to quell the opponents of seeing this type of opinion posted on the front page as an article.
Repping DemonRS for clarifying that he is not an administrator or moderator but a contributor.

I'm not really sure that classifies as being 'owned'...
I know that over the years I've built a few teams that relied on wild-card flip-flopping (my first favorite was Doombot force that rotated between Brotherhood, Hydra and Skrulls)...but since that CT era team, I think a majority of my Wildcard teams have either had no TA to choose from, or a single TA....lately I've been using Alfred the BST as the TA for WC teams, which I'm sure hasn't endeared me to opponents.
There have been plenty of times when I've had a single WC figure as a guest star on another team as well (LE Jenny Walters and F4 springs to mind).
In neither case would I object to the WCs being "stuck" with a TA...and I would happily accept that pogs/BST couldn't provide copyable TAs.

My point is that there are people who are trying to dictate what is on the front page as though they were an administrator or moderator when they're neither.
darius_dax1 is still a friend here on HCR and I repped him even though I disagree with him on this issue.

Didn't DemonRS dictate what was on the first page as well?

I try to argue my point with respect for the other side. I actually don't care if someone has the opinon that they want the rules changed...I actually stopped caring to view the threads because there were so many of them. I do take issue that this opinon article is on the front page and published as an article giving it credence.

What if DemonRS had written the article and posted it? I was thinking about this the other night, and it seems to me that is the big issue...not even so much that the article and its contents were posted, but that it was posted by someone who didn't write the article?
I'm not really taking sides on the issue...I don't surf the realms as much as before, so I hadn't seen any of the rule change articles, but I also see where those are coming from who think it shouldn't have been posted. I guess I fall into the 'Hey, new article? Cool!' crowd.

This also was my logic. I don't troll the realms as much as I used to with my old job, so if there were like 10000000 of these threads, I certainly didn't see them.
My browsing of the realms largely ends up being the top 10 at the bottom. And like I've said, I don't know about anyone else, the changing 10 articles at the bottom to me don't show the life of the realms the same way as a front page article. If there's no articles being posted I often get the, "eh nothing's new" feel, regardless what's happening at the bottom.

Is that what trolls do when they aren't looking to cause trouble?
Of all the cornball strategies WK ever used for fixing game problems, I never understood why WK would be willing to release ever-growing and complicated set of "clarifications" and "errata" (not to mention enforcing retirement) but be unwilling to simply ban and/or reprice figures and/or reword feats (Thunderbolts would have been the simplest feat to fix and end a LOT of griping, yet it was casually ignored).
.
To be fair, I don't think this can be helped. The very moment they introduced Feats and Special Powers, which are game concepts that break the normal rules, you are always going to have lots of FAQs and Erratas. That cannot be helped.
This is the case with Magic: The Gathering (MtG), and that is the reason why I left that game. Every set just breaks old stuff and the FAQ gets bigger and bigger. Heck,MtG doesn't even care anymore about the unrestricted format, and release sets that are only balanced within itself. Their entire tournament structure revolves around it. That's right, imagine ALL your HeroClix tournaments are "Floor 100%".
This is another reason I advocate for the reducing of total figures that have a Special Power per set.
