Long time no see. I have returned from a far too long respite. Though I have no real chance to play at the moment, I am building comic-accurate themed teams. First up..one of my favorite viallin teams..the Hellfire Club circa the Dark Phoenix Saga....
When a 600 point tourney comes your way, why not try it?
From Left to Right:
Emma Frost 81 pts (GSX)
Black Queen 70 pts (MM)
Mastermind 117 pts (MU)
Black King 116 pts (AW)
Harry Leland 53 pts (GSX)
Donald Pierce 73 pts (MM)
Tessa 39 pts (SV)
Total: 549
51 points left over for feats or Hellfire Guards. If you use the Ultimates Hellfire Guards, you can add in 4 Rookies, or one each of the R/E/V and have 7-8 points left over. You can also save a point and use the Clobberin Time E White Queen, who's outfit is more comic-accurate. Enjoy!
Edit: BTW, the Jason Wyngarde is a custom that I comissioned. It sits on the MU Mastermind Dial.

Has there really never been a Sebastian Shaw in clix?
It's funny, I have a big stack of old Marvel comics that had belonged to my friend's older brother that my friend and I scavenged from his mother's home after she passed. Among them is a big stack of Uncanny X-Men, including the two issues you posted here. Great, classic read!
It was interesting seeing the introduction of Kitty Pryde. I immediately remarked to myself, 'she looks like a young Signourney Weaver.' I checked Wikipedia, and sure enough that exactly what Byrne intended.

He may not look like Kevin Bacon, but, he was a Unique in Armor Wars.

GG the Armor Wars Black King Unique is Sebastian Shaw. Much like they did with White Queen/Emma Frost, WK went with the alias before using their names.
As I recall Claremont and Byrne used a lot of famous people as inspiration for the characters they developed during their X-Men run. Harry Leland, for example, was based on Orson Welles.
I have been going through some trades and re-reading more classic stuff as of late. GSX was probably my set of sets and once I started getting figures, it inspired me to go back and read X-Men stuff. It's been fun putting different team combinations together.

Ok, so here is an X-Men team...the Outback version. This version clocks in at 541 points leaving plenty for feats or upgrades for Storm, Rogue, Colossus, and/or Wolverine.
Outback X-Men:
Dazzler C 48 pts (MU)
Havok V 44 pts (MM)
Psylocke E 65 pts (AW)
Colossus/Wolverine 190 pts (GSX)
Storm V 40 pts (DR)
Rogue V 88 pts (IC)
Longshot U 66 pts (MM)
Total: 541 pts
Again, I have a custom Dazzler on an MU Dazzler dial, with a more accurate outfit. Though when she first had the outfit she did not have the bandana on, and the was over her right breast for a few issues. It was later moved to the center of her chest. Also, Psylocke first used the armor in issue #232, when the X-men encountered the Brood.

I have 400 point tourney coming up and I recently re-read 52 so I'll be running this;
169 SM042 Lobo
79 AN036 Animal Man
88 CD096 Adam Strange
62 IO022 Starfire
398
I'm not thinking it will do particularly well, but I just can't think of a better opportunity to use most of these figures. It should be fun pulling out Adam and Buddy, even if the synergy doesn't seem to be there
Ok, one more. I got my Pestilence figure today and had to do this.
I present the Horsemen of Apocalypse, as depicted in X-Factor Vol.1 #24 & 25. This is a 646 point team version:
Horsemen of Apocalypse:
Apocalypse SR 250 pts (MU)
Pestilence LE 99 pts (GSX)
War LE 99 pts (GSX)
Famine LE 99 pts (GSX)
Archangel SR 99 pts (GSX)
Total: 646 pts
Of course, if you want to run the Horsemen without Apocalypse, you can use the feat too. This is a big one for me, because I have wanted these guys for soooo long.

Forgive my ignorance and lack of information on this point, but I have heard this term forever, and never known what it means: what is 'LAMP'? (From the OP.)

L Lockjaw
A Armour Piercing
M Mastermind
P Poison
Basically lockjaw carries around someone with mastermind, poison, and armor piercing. He places the poisoner next to the victim and waits for poison to kill them. Lockjaw has such a long dial that it will take forever to blast through him and hurt the poisoner. The LAMP method allows a victory with no dice rolls required
That being said one can play a fairly comic accurate LAMP team with Batman Villians. Just replace Lockjaw with hypertime Manbat (if you use Kurt he also has poison) and have the joker poison the heck out of people. solomon grundy is good for a damage sponge too, and clayface adds plasticity

LAMP refers to a team back in the day that used A Poison figure with Armor Piercing and Lockjaw. Usually the figure of choice was Icons Joker.
So L=Lockjaw, AM=Armor Piercing, P=Poison
Edit: Forgot about the Mastermind...my bad!
