We'll be talking to Drew and Eliza on thursday after Drew has had a chance to chase up Ikon in pursuit of our second kit. If all goes to plan there'll be a kit for both days. If not, we'll talk out a solution that is fair for both days.
I'm not going to be able to make the sunday events, so the thursday nights would work better for myself as well.
How many players are sundays likely to be getting? I think the prize support should be going to the day that has the most player interest. Having said that, I think the final call is with the shop where their prize support is used. They're the ones that ordered it in, and I think they should be the ones making the final decision. Not just one of the two judges jumping up and down and demanding it.
Maybe take a poll one which date more players would prefer?
Cheers,
For me and a few of the other Sunday guys Thursday is really hard to make, and for some impossible. We get similar numbers on Sunday to thursdays.

Well if it gets similar numbers then it makes sense to split the LEs. That's the fair thing to do. Maybe give half of each LE to each date, and keep track of who won what LE so that they can't win them at both events to keep it fair for the most number of people?
Hopefully they can get more prize support in and it makes this whole conversation moot.
Ok everyone, good news. Drew came down hard on Ikon and we will be getting both a second infinity gauntlet OP kit and the long overdue Lord of the Rings OP kit, hopefully in the next week. That means that both dates will get their full allotment of LEs.
Also, i'm after people's opinion regarding the 1.5k qualifiers. Would people rather the qualifiers take place at the IG events for thursday or on another day. Personally I'd like to keep the IG events as friendly and non hyper-competetive as possible, but I want input from the players as to how we go ahead with it. Note that the average thursday qualifier will have less points available than other qualifier events, as we only have 2 rounds per day rather than 3, and the charge is an extra $5

You have no choice davoid001, according to the competition information sheet the Infinity Gauntlet games are the qualifiers for the 1.5K event.

Thursday 9th
Hopefully GG will have the star trek clix in by thursday, and if so, thursday's build will be a 300pts sealed event, with prize support being trek booster pulls. In the event that stock has not arrived, it will be 300 pts modern age
Thursday 16th of Feb
The Infinity Gauntlet!
Session 1 one of the Infinity Gauntlet organised play event is finally here! The build will be a 300pts sealed event of Incredible Hulk, with an added twist to be announced on the night.
In addition, the event will be the first qualifier for the Australia wide 1.5k tournament
Cost for the night is $10. Half goes to the store to cover the cost of the OP kits and prize support for the 1.5k tournament, the other half contributes to booster pulls to bulk out the prize support. Prize support is the Adam Warlock LE, and in addition everyone who participates will get an Infinity Gauntlet special object.
I hope to see ALL of you there:D
We all had a great day last Sunday in the first of the qualifiers to be held at Burwood for the Goodgames 1.5K event. It was also an Infinity Gauntlet organised play day of course and everyone who attended received their Infinity Gauntlet special objects.
We had twelve people turn up for the day each cracking two Hulk Boosters for a 300pt Sealed tournament.
Coming in first was Adam with three wins and 863 pts. He fielded a balanced little team using perplexers, outwitters, prob-control, ranged guys and Joe fixit as his main attacker. He faced down two red hulks during the day for his three wins.
Second was Paddy with two wins and 637 pts using an Avengers theme team of Red Hulk and She-Hulk.
Third was a new comer Ailin (a mate of Paddy’s) with two wins and 597 pts. The Leader had obviously mind controlled the Hulk because they and an AIM Renegade faced down most comers.
Fourth was James O. with two wins and 561 pts. He was pondering long and hard what to field, a mixed little team or Cosmic Hulk and went with ol' blue skin.
Fifth was Rachel with two wins and 549 pts. She could field Wolverage, Abomination and Rick Jones - with, I may say his AE A-Bomb! She was in the running for first by the way (after wolverage and abom tag-teamed cosmic Hulk) but she lost in the last round.
Sixth was another new guy Tim (a mate of Jarrett’s) who had two wins and 541 pts. He used the Hulk, White Tiger and the Punisher in only his second or third time Heroclixing. He had a resounding loss coming up against Cosmic Hulk in the first round but clean sweeps in the next two.
Seventh was Jarrett with two wins and 468 pts. He fielded a team of scrappers with Black Tarantula, Matt Murdock, Daredevil and the Punisher. There you see, Matt Murdock can't be Daredevil he was right to sue the newspaper who outed him.
Eighth was Jay with one win and 478 pts. He fielded a team with Daredevil, Black Tarantula and the Leader but came up against Wolverage in the first round and Red Hulk in the second.
Ninth was Glen with one win and 371 pts. Man-Beast made a showing (even though he knew what had happened to Jay in the first sealed) with Abomination and an AIM Agent. Apparently one game game down to a shape change roll on Man-Beast in the last round, and he didn't make it.
Tenth was Thomas with one win and 321 pts. He used Red Hulk with a punisher and an AIM agent. He came up against one of the new guys in the last round and I asked him to be a bit gentle with him. Afterwards Tom basically asked me why I couldn't have asked the new guy to go easy on him.
Eleventh was James H. with no wins and 398 points. He had a fairly good team but really bad dice rolls. He had She-Hulk, Thundra, Matt Murdock and an AIMarine (with his AE).
Twelfth and lucky last was Matt - Big Daddy - with no wins and 93 pts. We normally don't give out fellowship prizes because most people who play are friendly and good spirited. Matt was the recipient of the fellowship prize this time for a few reasons. Firstly he played a theme-team-without-a-theme; the dysfunctional family of Dad - Bruce Banner, Mom - Caiera the Old Strong and Son - Skaar. He unfortunately did not pull Banner's AE but don't worry he got to fight against the Hulk in his first two matches. He came up against the two new-comers and basically instructed them on how to beat him - which they both proceded to do with clean sweeps. Though, like James H having a few dice rolls go his way wouldn't have hurt. He certainly was a good ambassador for the game in attitude and demeanour and richly deserved Fellowship.
Well that was it for first qualifier part one. Onto first qualifier part two on Thursday.
- At least half of your point build must come from the last Marvel and DC sets, being of course Hulk and Superman.
- As we are running a bit late with the Infinity Gauntlet events (due to the prize support being late), and
- As everyone polled on the day said they could make it in a fortnight's time, then
- we will have the next qualifier next Sunday game.
Everyone who attends will recieve the next gem for their Infinity Gauntlet which I think is the Soul Gem. Prizes of the Inbetweener will go to First Second and Fellowship. Fellowship will be awarded, as usual, for sportsmanship but also for team build. People who make what would be considered a comic acurate team (and not just from one one-off issue) will be far liklier to win Fellowship. This is to help differentiate between everyone because it is hard to award fellowship when most people play fairly.

I promise to play like a jerk at the next 'clix I get to to make this decision easier 8)
500 points - "Bring Me an Army Worthy of Mordor"
There wasn't a settled rule on how many generics/ horde tokens you need to use, but try and at least make your team thematically matched (group of generics and a leader)
prize support comes from the LotR OP Kit
Dave'll chime in with anything I've missed tonight no doubt.
