Anyone still playing Clix?

I have not played in a long time, since The Incident, actually.

I'm not currently playing anything. Last played X-Wing 18, maybe 24 months ago.

Been a year probably since I played Star Wars : Destiny. I had won a Bye into the Atlanta Regional and decided not to go, have not played since.

I don't remember the incident if you want to give a short version of it. I have not played clix in over 2 years. I got to play MTG and board games with some friends who are also teachers over this past summer.

Clix has become a serious addiction for me. I play every Friday night, and I literally have "withdrawals" when whoever is making the game take too long. I get angry and inpatient beyond any rationality. It's a fun game but that's...not great.

Amateur! I think at the height of my gaming I could pull off 4 days a week playing clix. That is not counting Gencon.

Ah yes, but you probably had friends. When I play it's with my dad's friends, and on my own I know like one or two other people who don't play...

...yet. Did I just stumble onto something?!

It sucks being super busy again. School year has started great, but damn I have zero free time.

Did start watching Umbrella Academy. Only on the 3rd episode but I love it!

I play once a week, on the weekend, to maintain a happy wife and life. Unless. I use PTO to play during the week, since, I work 2nd shift.

I went to Worlds for the first time at PAX (2018) and went to nationals at Origins (2019) for the first time this year. My team mate and heroclix mentor, KMLVDM was one of four people at nationals that went 5-0 in swiss. I am El Capitan of the Guild of Mute Assassins (clan / team). Currently, we are ranked 14th in the world. The name is inspired by the song of the same name, by the band Clutch.

I am interested in the story behind "the incident", if you ever want to elaborate.

Back when MTG debuted, I used to play a CCG that competed for the same player's base and money called, Guardians by FPG. Needless to say, it failed and is long out of print.

Damn bat flying around downstairs woke a dog, which woke my wife, who woke me up to get it out of the house. Fifth bat night in the past 2 months or so

I played clix a couple times in the past 3 months, and enjoyed it. The problem for me is spending serious $$$ collecting the crap out of the game. It made sense for the years I was playing a couple nights a week and had numerous sets to make up for missing, but now it’s just dumb.

Had a player assault me during the Blackest Night event for Nekron. He brought his early teen daughter to play so he could get extra boosters and I beat her, pretty badly, but I was not all cruel or anything, it was just a severe mismatch. I even apologized immediately after the game, I felt bad for having to play her, she teared up and her dad lost his ####.
I stood there and took his abuse so as not to further upset his kid, but when no one from the other players to the store owner's wife said anything I had had enough. The player had been a bully for years. I sold everything I owned clix-wise within a month.

At one point, back when my wife was teaching at night and on Saturday afternoons and most importantly before kids, I was running 6 Heroclix, 4 Mechwarrior and 4 MageKnight events between 3 venues and scheduling all gaming events at those 3 plus 1 more store and also rounding up volunteers to run the balance of the prize kit allocated events. I did this for about 4 years, eventually scheduling more than just WK events so the there was little overlap in events in about a 30 mile radius of Chattanooga to allow players to move from venue to venue and play.

Once kid #1 was too big to stay in the chest-pack kid carrier thingy, I had to cut my playtime back. I still coordinated events and envoys around here until about 2013.

Loved the Umbrella Academy, hope season 2 is even half as good as the first.

I was a much better Sealed Event player than constructed. I played in maybe Worlds events at Wizard World Chicago a few times, played my way into a few events during the sealed rounds only to get crushed in constructed because otherwise I preferred to play typically comics based 'theme' teams.

If you were around during the HeroClix online days, I spent months there ranked in the top 3 for sealed, but again, Constructed was an issue.

I am also a Clutch fan, Blast Tyrant is a favorite of mine.

I went through 2-3 episodes of Umbrella Academy before stopping. I should pick it up because it was good but at times hour long episodes are too long when I can fall asleep during a normal 30 minute episode sometimes.
