Cool, point costs for Legendary pilots are reduced from what Gunslingers would be. Ex. a 1/2/1 would cost 20 base points for a GS, but is only 18 pts for a Legendary.


Also, this set seems to have many many painting problems. It's either:

1) Right paint scheme, wrong faction/regimental insignias (i.e. RD and CW Mad Cat Mk IVs)
2) Right faction/regimental insignias, wrong paint scheme (i.e. LI and RS Partisans)

I was fortunate enough to have a Wolf Strike booster given to me by a friend at Monday's game. Dunno how many of these have been covered, but I got:

A House Davion Raven - 105 points, 0/10 3-damage energy and 4/14 3-damage armor-piercing balistic, 9 move, 9 attack, and 19 Decoy on the starting click - pretty sweet for the cost. Later in the dial it gets Homing Beacon. Course when I tried to turn the dial I applied pressure to the leg and it became unglued but that's easilly fixed.

A Clan Jade Falcon Vixen - this thing is SWEET. For 117 points you get 3 damage, 0/12 energy and 2 damage, 2 target 0/6 ballistic - about normal for light class. But you also get 12 move with evade, 10 attack, and 20 defense. In my booster I got Light Agility and Light Decoy, so then you have 22 decoy at ranged and agility up close - or you can stick one of the +2 defense pilots in, or whatever - he's fine being run by himself.

Also a mysterious Partisan AA tank - it's ROTS, but has the Rasalhague paint scheme. Error, or fluff foreshadowing? I dunno.

Also a Bannson's Raiders Inner Sphere Battle Armor, and a Wolf Hunter Wraith (These guys look awesome).

Cards are Constant Tremors (All Units ingoter the Advanced Anti-Missile System, Coolant Flush, and Point Defense special equipment, as weel as any SE/gear with 'repair' in the name), the aforementioned gear, a 17 point 1/2/0 BR Light pilot, and the great deal of a +2 (quad or normal)/0/1 light pilot for 6 points.

Well, it's now officially September 27th across the majority of the world and MechWarrior: Wolf Strike is technically released.

For those of you lucky to have gotten your packs/bricks/cases already, what did you pull?


I'm so excited, I don't even know why.

if i get lucky (dependant on 2 things) 1 store would have them, 2 reach the guy who i got the case with and him being able to come over, we ll be opening a case and by memory i ll post contents if i dont forget.

Opened 1 and a half bricks last night (Girlfriend got only 2 uniques in her first brick so had to soothe her plastic crack cravings by splitting another one with her)

Opened with a bunch of friends and we all got at least 1 brick each. other than girlfriends brick they all had 3 uniques a piece. Only 1 out of the three Liao Stalking spiders actually had the correct pilot (other 2 both got Cynthia Kelly instead - wasn't so bad for 1 as he also got Cynthia's ride with the Liao pilot - go figure!!!!)

I got Hammerfall, Starke and Matchstick for my three uniques and then got Bailey in the other brick (agreed to let Girlfriend get extra unique if got 3 which we did so both happy). I traded Hammerfall for Bjorn and one of the Wolfen so glad because got the three main uniques I wanted from boosters (I collect RD, CNC and HS)

for non uniques I pulled 2 HL Vulture, 1 CJF Vulture, 1 HL Marauder, 1 CJF Vixen, 1 CJF Gambit, 1 BR Gambit, 1 RD Griffin, 1 HS Raven, 1 HK Raven, 1 CNC Gambit, 1 CNC Griffin, 1 RD Mad Cat IV and I think it was a RD Raven? Vehicles wise I got a CW VTOL, 1 CJF Mantuefel, 1 CW Carnivore, 1 RD Partisan, 1 HK Partisan, 1 CNC Partisan, 1 HL Mantuefel?, 1 ? Padilla and 1 can't remember what.

Infantry I got a smattering of most things but very little of what I initially wanted. Thankfully traded a good portion of it straight away (booster openings always come down to a viscious tradefest in the end!).

And this was all the way over in Perth Western Australia so WK is good on the delivery of boosters side of their business but quality control is another issue.

Many of my Mech units had frozen joints some are still in the freezer awaiting fixing. I am missing the right arm shield and little gun from the Black Knight, saw the CW Crimson Hawk with a missing arm. Many of the paintjobs are bad with either inconsistant colourings (a HK Mad Cat with different shades of redish brown and very slapped on paint at that), poorly applied paint or wrongly painted units (friend got 2 HL Partisans that sported very red RotS paintjobs! dials and stats were pure HL but vehicles weren't). Had a Wulfen with a gun that whilst it was attached it wasn't actually glued you could see there had never been any glue there) and I have a HS Gambit where the left shoulderpad has been chipped and a large chunk is missing. It is a clean snap with no paint so must assume it happened after painting. Some of the miniatures feel like very stiff plastic whilst others are a lot softer (all at the same temperature?) so wondering if figures were made by different factories or with different batches of plastic?

Me and three other people drafted from four bricks last night. We had two Hammerfalls, but only two silver bases, Cleaver and Hot Seat. Only one other unique was pulled twice, Gray Hunter, and I think we had at least one of each Carnivore, and I had to make a decision to take the CW or WH one, though I wanted both :P

I also think we had a ton of Gambits. I was particpating by phone, so I'm not totally sure of what all was pulled exactly.

All four of us did get 3 uniques each, so I guess that further supports the 3 uniques per brick ratio.

You. Are. Kidding. Me.... I opened my brick last night and pulled the Liao Spider with Cynthia/Coolant pod also. *grumble*

I particularly liked your question "Which one does Rockbender want?" when the choice was the CW or WH Carnivores =-) Like I'm going to TELL you... ;-)

I opened 2 cases last night and it appears that there is a consistent sorting error when it comes to the Cynthia Kelly and Liao unique pilots. I pulled 2 of each but Kelly was in the Liao mech and the Liao pilot was in Kelly's mech. If you can find someone who has pulled the Liao mech, then more than likely you can trade them pilot for pilot.

As to quality control. This set is definitely not as good as Vanguard was. Almost every Raven and Madcat MkIV had some kind of problem with them. Some of the Ravens were even broken beyond repair. 3 big mechs also were missing their bottom part of the dials. It is still way better than Annihilation was that's for sure.:rolleyes:
