The revolution will not be apologized for, although you and the whole WV crew have my sincere sympathy.
(We watched the Margaret Cho Revolution DVD last night, and it reminded me why I continue with this crap. If I don't speak out against stuff I think needs changing, then I won't exist at all.)
I think TDC is almost too big to be a legitimate "team", and I think it would have kept expanding if we didn't start talking about it.
I love hating the heavy favorite, especially when some of its players act badly.
The Magic Pro Tour is so infected with players acting badly that it turns the stomach. We had a chance to start over here, and we have built a miracle. A non-elitist Pro Circuit? Yes please. It is possible, we have proven that... but it won't last without continued effort.
That's my revolution, as lame as it may be. No apologies.

GO HABS GO!!
You better be joking. I know you better than that, I would never accuse you of being a Leafs fan. I had a Maudite or two myself, especially laughing at the score. At least the Yankees don't call themselves "The Center of the Universe". Yet.
I'll root for your Habs, although Lindy Ruff on one side and Stu Barnes on the other would be my dream final.
As to the josh whitanen comment issue. You may be being too hard on him. When analyzing or critiquing what someone says you have to keep in mind his audience. I'm assuming he was talking to friends who are fellow 'pros.' They ask who he lost to and he says 'some random.' If he had said 'Bob Johnson' or whatever his name was they're inevitably going to say 'who?' And he's just going to shrug or say 'some guy.' To call the guy a 'random' or a 'nobody' gets the point across much quicker, and since he's not talking to someone whos going to be offended by using such a term theres no harm done. This is why taking things out of context and repeating things said behind someones back causes trouble. Don't always assume somebody's being an #######, Josh may very well have known the guys name, but since his friends don't know who he is, telling them his name isnt really answering the question of 'who beat you' while saying 'some random' does answer the question.
Though somehow I think my point will be missed by most ...

I see your point, because I do refer to my opponents as 'some random' when I'm talking to my friends because they don't really care who I played unless they know their name.
But from what I've seen of Josh's attitude and general demeanor, I don't think this was his intention....
Oh it definately might not apply in Josh's case, I don't really know him well enough to say, but he certainly has a bit of a reputation. I was making a more general statement.
Yeah, but even though I dont' agree with 'some random'either, it definitely is better than "a nobody". The random comment POSSIBLY denotes that you are honestly saying such without knowing the person, although "I don't know who" SEEMS like the logical thing to say.
The nobody comment is specifically typecasting a person.
Ok. Let me start by saying that if someone is a prick or acting like a prima donna (like Josh and Dave would have to concede they are guilty of from time to time) then i dont think it is an excuse to say 'Oh well thats his Schtick' or something like that. If you are being a dick you are being a dick and you should stop.
Still, i dont think it is fair to have this random trial-by-internet thing where everyone just takes sides, spews their own garbage (perhaps this is a tad ironic with this post :)) and Spams the living bejesus out of the thread. Seriously stu, i think you have made your point. You dont like TDC. You dont like TDC and Shaun created HV. We get it :).
There are plenty of things i dont like about TDC, but on closer examination i found that nearly all of them were inspired by jealousy. If fifty guys or something want to start their own team, who cares? Even if they concede to each other at tournaments they are their own men (or women) and they can make their own decisions.
The only caution i would have is that it could be dangerous to have such a large group being so influential at times, but this is just the risk we have to take. I think that most 'name' players would concede to another player if they couldnt make T8 and the oter guy could. This is still done entirely in self-interest (for assumed splits and future reference). My only concern is where pressure is applied to do this. Norman Perion couldnt make T8 at 10KLA and he didnt concede to me. I proceeded to get the worst draw of my life and miss T8 but thats the way it should be. He made his own decision.
This is essentially what TDC is. A bunch of guys exercising free association. If you feel ostracised by it, because they call you a random or whatever, get over it. Seriously, sticks and stones...Make your own jusgements about people and be honest about them, but everyone should stop harping on about the same old crap. Have fun with the guys you play with and enjoy Vs for the game and your friends as opposed to what virginal T8 competitor has just become Number Fifty-Seven in TDC. Thats their business and until they do something more seriously anti-social, i couldnt care less.
if some player refers to a random player as a "nobody", then that player should get over themselves because by calling them a nobody they think they are more important then that random player.

Some people are better than others, and Alex Brown is better than most.
First Hager gets me to change my avatar, now this guy gets me to shut up about Dave Spears.
