Essentially I'm arguing that the reason Deathstroke wasn't considered all that big in the dcu was because he had no face time in movies or cartoons until the teen titans cartoon. Since the cartoon started not only has Slade earned himself a place as one of the most awesome villians, but the titans series started up again.
Deathstroke goes in my top 10 for sure, and that was LONG before they made the Titans cartoon. And the series starting back up? You mean the comic series, I am guessing... Comic series restart all the time. You can:t credit that to the cartoon. It went practically straight from Titans/Young Justice into Teen Titans v3.
Deathstroke just doesnt have a lot of competition. Theres Joker. Theres Lex Luthor. After that, I condier a slew of about 6 characters to be about equal, and Deathstroke is one of them.

Yes, I was talking bout the comic. While comics do restart, if you notice all the characters that appear in the titans cartoon came into the comic. Now I know that they were all there at one point and time but raven was gone and they did an entire story arc to bring her back. I'm not upset as I like raven, it just shows that maybe dc is putting them in the series because a kid or a casual person can look at the cover and recognize their favorite titan. Also I mainly attribute the re-emergance of the series to the fact that more people were getting interested in the series because of the cartoon, seeing a comic with one of your favorite heroes from a cartoon helps sales. Also Deathstroke was also amongst my top ten, around number 4. I've loved him since I picked up a issue of new teen titans a couple of years ago.

Starfire has already been on the team. No big suprise there. Cyborg has always been on the team, and they had planned to fix the Omeggadrome stuff for sometime. Beast Boy had also been ever-present. Devin Grayson actually said in 2000 that we'd see Raven back in the flesh- that's before the cartoon hit. And Robin was a natural progression in the Graduation Day storyline. That was planned for sometime, early in Young Justice's run, which was, again, before the Teen Titans cartoon was concieved.
Its all a tangent, however. Deathstroke has been a present force- go back and read THE TITANS- he's popping up causing trouble all throughout, and he's always been a force. I can see that he's become an increasing threat, but he's always had role.

Apparently we are on the same page, I am fully with you, slade has been an ever present threat to the titans and other heroes. However it is until recent when he picked up a more note able face that perhaps he needed to be seen in a bigger role. I'm so happy he has one because he is really an awesome character to see do his thing. I can't say he hasn't been a threat, the judas thing with terra more than proved that. Now I know that titans didn't restart because of the cartoon, but it certainly helped sales.
Edit: BTW Props for calling superboy's death quite a bit before it happened.

FINALLY. Thank you. And there's the one from IC7 that I predicted as soon as I heard about "The Return of Donna Troy." Oh, wait. That hasn't happened yet.

I'm so with you on that. Personally I think the spectre will show up and start passing judgement. Thus superman loses his powers and diana loses her head in a manner of speaking. This however may prove to be false and diana may just retire or something of the like.
