keep in mind guys that Steve built these decks with the casual player in mind. If a new reader wants to build a deck they see on there, then they'd be more than discouraged at having to get 4 mobilize, 4 only human, 4 assorted aliases, 4 *force field projection etc.

and, if nothing else, doesn't it make it feel like the old days when decks aren't as tweaked out as they can possibly be? Maybe its just me, but I like myself a game where the 2 decks in the match are not busted r-tarded good.

Shucky darn. Heh. And to think I had an argument with guys at hobby league about Mutant Supreme being good (me, "average at worst") or not (them "terrible"). I win! I'll work on reppin' the winners.

Sigh. I luv ya Steve, but this "competition" isn't turning out to be much fun to bet on. I bet on Doom to beat Jean, but the Doom deck you put together was awful. Had I seen it in advance, my vote would've gone the other way.

And in today's games, you made such a colossal misplay that the results are completely invalidated. Mags DID NOT win today. He may have been awarded the victory, but he didn't win.

It's really hard to predict an outcome here, not because of the inherent factors of luck and strategy, but simply because of bad play. Bad construction, illegal plays, what have you.

Betting on a contest of who will make the most crushing illegal or ill-advised play just isn't that satisfying. :(

I got to tell you something man. Why don't you put together the 8 decks write 7 articles and do a youtube video cast all in a few weeks time never mind living life taking care of his kid, work ,wife. I've said this before, but I will repeat myself.

I apologise for the mis-plays. We built these deck as soon as the spoiler came out and most cards were proxied - scribbles on post-it's stuck to points cards. My opponent is very new to the game, and we were both drunk whilst playing. Apologies to those who feel let down. We played the games over couple of nights one weekend and I made notes as we went. It's possible my notes are a little out as well.

As for the builds - yes, the Doom deck sucks. I said as much at the end of the article. Once again, these decks were built from the spoiler list with no playtesting or tweaking. They we built as soon as the list was published. The Punisher deck is crap as well, but the other decks seem OK to me. IF you go back and read my first article (I think) I explain that I was not treating this as an excercise to find ther most busted Legend deck, but as an arena for on-team, curve decks to battle out - for fun. If you don't find it fun because of the gross mistakes that have been made - sorry. May I suggest reading Michael Barnes articles instead. He is infi better than me.

I wasn't complaining about the articles, they're still a very fun read. My complaint is about the activities in this thread. I know it's all for fun and all that, but even making a casual prediction has turned out to be nearly impossible.

So just bet for a favorite and hope the mistakes are in your favor :). It's just for fun, and the most you lose is 10 minutes of your time.

that Mags/F4 fight was really fun to read, despite the misplay. my repping limit has been reached, so i'll get around to repping the winners either tomorrow or the day after. :)

That misplay of Avalanched only really delayed the inevitable. Steve was going to win that game on 7 anyway. All he did was steal inish and win it on 6 instead.

And Kamiza, these articles and this thread are a blast. Don't take any of the nay-saying and monday-morning-quarterbacking to heart. If anything, the fact that people are getting upset shows how into it they are. You should have told us up front you were drunk and the card text was blurry.

I eagerly await the next match-up.

For the next match I have to go with ghost rider as much as I would love to go with punisher (to get all he reps since everyones siding with ghost rider), I feel the ghost rider deck is so much better then punisher deck which has no chance of winning.

Absolutly nobody has gone against Ghost Rider, btw; we may have a one-sided bet on that one.
