The deck would be "very good but fair and beatable" if you only issued the errata on Blink to make her a recruit effect. Remember the goal isn't to stop the deck from being playable, it's to make it possible for anything else to be played.
0 of the 5 draws I listed above would work if Blink was a recruit effect. Some of them may generate some decent attack armies, but that's fine... we're accepting of a good beatdown deck with 10-20 burn (SHIELD is "fine").
if it was simply change to recruit then the bodyslide build can still push 30ish burn damage. just more copies of exiles 2 drops would have to be played. just 1 use of blink recruit or shifted in(makes very little difference) the deck can still kill with just burn with swarm of 2 drops.. (ive done it before) the real problem is the burn from mariko not blink...
Eh, you're right; either one without the other would be bad :(. Without Mariko, blink can still generate obscene resource points. I've seen simple abuse decks that don't play Mariko that still kill fast and fine. Without Blink more tricks would be used with Mariko, and the deck would be 2-drop based instead of 3-drop based (more similar to my no-rares version).
Bleh :(. I guess you have to axe both of them into the errata/ban list.
I still think errataing blink to recruit and making mariko target would make beating the deck possible... not likely. Also, I think you should have to exhaust blink to use warp shards, I mean, you have to exhaust cyclops to use concussive force. I also like the suggestion of making beak saves the day a combat phase only card. To be honest, beak saves the day might be the most broken card Exiles have.

I agree, and I wouldn't mind if they made Warp Shards cost more... say 5 or so...
Warp Shards is "merely" a great card; they can leave it. They need to answer the broken parts, and Warp Shards isn't on the list (you'll notice I often pitched it; and do so in matches too. It's the only target that hits Pathetic Attempt, so unless I get multiple I rarely even try to hit my opponents guys with it... more often than not it's a way to "rerecruit" blink from turn 3, or a setup for the next turn if I fail to kill on 4).
With both Mariko and Blink being come-into-play effects, the deck would certainly drop off, but it would be far from "unplayable". Blink would still generate a good number of resource points; Mariko may not be played. The deck would still make big guys and a good sized army (think Kree), and Warp Shards would still be a scary combat trick; it just wouldn't be the "be all" deck anymore. I just did a random.draw with the Exiles, counting Mariko as Rogue and making Blink a recruit effect. I still had Proteus (tapped), Blink, Sage, Miguel, and Albert in play turn 4, and a Common Bond. That's still a lot of attack and 3 free cards, so you can see they would remain playable even with these erratas, just not busted. People can deal with this setup.
I actually think Mariko shouldn't target. In a 'fair' context, it actually takes a reasonable amount of effort to get her to work well, and it would really suck to go through all that planning just to get shut down by a PA, right?
I'm not sure, but I think instead of making her target a better clause might be: "If you have not controlled another Mariko" like Mad as a Hatter. ED - heh - pointed out the weakness in making her targeting and I agree with him completely now.
On the other hand, if you figure you figure Blink is the real culprit, it doesn't make sense to nerf her at all since the majority of Mariko's power comes from Blink.
Side note: I've always wondered; Would Nocturne really have been that bad if they made her trigger on CIPT?
yea after reviewing the faq on albert/miguel it appears they break uniqueness. so definate 4 of for both.. wow exiles are just more and more degenerate/expensive

When used with timebrokers? (the one that lets you come into play during combat phase) and john proudstar on 4... yea, that would hurt a LOT.
My problem with mariko is that I can't negate it with chameleon (legionnaire) If mariko targeted, I think legion could actually put up a fight against exiles. I'm probably just wrong though.
It's more the infinite combo / combo potential available for a character that untaps someone when she comes into play. At least they caught that much :)
