Apparently there are alot of people complaining about the new set. What does everyone think about it?
I think the big figures will be awesome. I am also curious about how the elongated bases will factor into the game.

I have more enthusiasm about what more giant figures and new rules concerning elongated bases could do to the game than I've had for the last two sets.

Well, the recent $1 increase mixed with 1 less figure in the boosters...

I'll get the set, as usual, but I doubt I will buy many boosters to do it. I'll resort to buying individual figs or maybe a set off of Ebay.

I'm just really looking forward to playing the Legacy figs. Only missing one non, and want to pick up a few more uniques for playing. Our case had dupes of Ares and Red Robin, so I got one of each plus KC GL and WW (go JSA)

My feelings exactly. I think I will only purchase boosters for sealed tourneys (and of course the Marquee.) I love playing the game that way. If you wait a while prices will drop, and heavily. I think the DC Hypertime set is going for around $75 ($100 at the most)

I was all pissy on this too (and it's clearly been displayed around these forums) until I found out the giant figs were replacing the two common slots in the boosters. So apparently there are no generics in this set and since that's the case, NOT getting two Princess Pythons or whatever isn't really all that bad. I've had boatloads of generics just sitting around that you almost can't give away. Getting a giant figure, an uncommon, and a rare (possibly a unique/SR) seems kinda cool now. Maybe that's just me though...

I decided a while ago that other than impulse I wasn't going to buy any more boosters (outside sealed events, and the afore mentioned impulse), simply b/c it is more cost effective to just buy a case. Especially if you wait for the price of the cases to drop.

I hear ya on the money thing though. I'm still waiting on my Tax Return. I got my eye on a Totally Sweet, Black Ram 1500 Hemi. Plus I may be getting a new job in Production here. 900 a week!!! I'm half way through my A+ right now...
