HamachiX does not have chat, so I have been trying to get games by using yahoo chat. Most of us have yahoo accounts we use for dice rolls and such, so it is a good alternate chat tool.
But...Nightcrawler really has been my favorite character for years.
I like to use skype so i can actually speak instead of typing. Makes it more like playing a game with the person there and makes the game play go faster.
well i figured out how to get to the chat rooms but now the people that are online status is unreachable. please help anyone
can anyone see me on the chat room HeroclixHangout2 (pw. 12345)
We are getting an infusion of new maps in an update I have planned for next week. The maps are great quality and leads me to the question:
1. Should I remove the old "ugly" 8-color maps from the program in favor of only leaving good quality stuff? Or should I leave them in to just have as many maps as possible?
2. Should I remove the two "oversized" maps (Liberty Island, X-Men mansion large) that never worked right anyhow (alignment problems), or do people play on them?

I've never played on the oversized maps, so I have no opinion, but I suggest leaving in the old maps unless you have a high-quality replacement for it. The more maps the better.

And I'm all right with the oldest ones leaving. I like having the outlines on the map. The maps are so much smaller onscreen that I prefer to use ones that are easier to read.

WOW
I just wanted to pass on my sincere thanks for the efforts you've put into HCOL. I recently found it and I've been playing it madly with a friend over the last week.
Having been involved with the Star Trek franchise for almost 20 years, i can tell you that it's the selfless efforts of fans like you that keep the fires burning brightly for niche loves like Heroclix. Thanks again and bravo!
Best,

Ok so I downloaded the program. What do you recommend I get as far as a program for talking to a person while I play against them? Also should I buy some sort of headset for the computer?

My preferred program for chatting while playing is Skype.
Do note: it is totally not required to be able to communicate during the game (which can also be done in a convenient text window). The advantage that voice chat gives you is it takes away the need to type "Wolverine attacks Sabretooth" before you click to roll the dice on the attack.
