Same here. I put in a 1 1/2 inch shelf all the way around his room as part of the wainscotting I did in the nursery. I have been buying Super Hero Squad and Action League figures and lining them up on it. When he is laying on the changing table he can see a number of them and smiles every time.
Gotta teach these kids right.
Maybe your Pavlovianly conditioning him to associate Superheroes and poo.
Yeah, as you pointed out in an earlier post, it is targeted at very young kids so I would hope it isn't for you.
I didn't say anything before because people get all angry when you have an opinion on what's good/bad for children even if that opinion is based on decades of education, training and experience.
The reality is that I meant it's not for me in that I don't know if I'd be comfortable with my children being exposed to it.
There's a lot of the Superhero world that really isn't appropriate for children younger than Kindergarten.
Got it. The post and link just brought up several things I realized I'm just not that familiar with. It's a good thing, really, because it got me to look around and realize:
- While I think Minaj is pretty, has a reasonably nice voice and a good sense of humor, I don't care for her style and choice of music.
- I though that Iron Maiden would turn out to be one of those bands where I knew and maybe even liked several of their songs, but having only heard it as background elements I never knew it was them... but no, at least not based on clicking around through tracks on YouTube. If I were 10 or 11 years old and presented with their album covers and music I might have become a big fan, but I was already stepping into my twenties when they started to hit the international charts. (I'm presuming the dates in a Wiki piece for something like this can be trusted.)
I've never met a 10 or 11 year old Maiden fan.
I've never known anyone under the age of 13 who liked Maiden and that's being generous. Mostly it's 16 and above.
So I offered a guy some great stuff yesterday in a trade. He responded to me today with this:
"I'm sorry, but I am not looking to spend the extra money to ship to Canada."
Seriously, this really irritates me. Americans have to spend such a pittance to ship to Canada. Whenever I check the labels on goods I receive, its about 2.50 tops. Usually to cover tax and whatnot I'm charged about 4-5 dollars when I buy something. And that same package, were I to send to back to the US? We're looking at double the price, at least. To get a Customs tracking form? $15. So to be told someone won't ship to Canada in a trade because its too expensive...
Its like a rich guy bumming a smoke from a hobo for a dollar, and then only giving him 25 cents because "that's all he has on him." Like, you're kidding right?
I've noticed this when I trade with Canadians all the time. I kinda felt bad about it when I noticed it.
I ship to Canada, but I always feel like it's a hassle because we do have to pay more and fill out extra stuff. I understand how you feel, but it's extra work.
I am also annoyed by the filling out paperwork part.
What do you write under "contents" that doesn't scream "I'm a nerd trading toys!"?

Do you consider yourself an Iron Maiden fan? I'm big on metal, but they were way before my time and outside of the sphere of bands that I've gone back to check out, so I've never really heard that much of them and I know I should have. If so, can you name 3-5 songs for me to check out so that I can get in on that action?

Also, Team Five Darkseids won it all at mutantwolf's birthday tournament. Turns out in a four-player free for all nobody wants to come near the guys with the twelve ranges, which really helped me because wins were based on points kept.
